deja vu

It has been 6 months. Six painful months, since Y/N L/N last talked to Draco Malfoy. Six months of crying, staying in her dorm and not caring about the world. Six months of her pushing people away because she thought that everyone would end up like him--who will make her happy in a few days and then would leave her like she means nothing.

Her grades are plummeting-- she doesn't care anymore. Each day felt more terrible than the last. She only got up out of bed because she needs to, not because she wants to. If she doesn't have school, she would've stayed in bed. But she doesn't want to disappoint her parents, so she would get out of bed just for them.

Sometimes, when the day is very terrible, she would just skip classes and go the hospital wing and tell Madam Pomfrey that her head hurts, and Madam Pomfrey would allow her to sleep in the hospital wing. Sometimes Y/N would fake it, sometimes it's true. The headache was the aftermath of sobbing all night, letting her heart ache. Y/N didn't know what else to do with her broken heart--she wanted Draco back, but she knew that that won't happen. Draco doesn't love her anymore.

He moved on--in fact, he moved on so quickly. Three months after the break-up, he started taking girls out for dates. This, of course, hurt Y/N so bad. She wished she would just be enough for him. She gave her all to him--all her love, time, and efforts--and yet he cannot reciprocate the love that she gave him. It was too much for him. He was never satisfied.

Or maybe, he didn't want to date a Hufflepuff. Maybe, he was too embarrassed. He was probably embarrassed with the fact that he would be seen holding a Hufflepuff's hand in the corridor. Maybe he was embarrassed with the fact that he would kiss a Hufflepuff on the cheek whenever they part ways because his class was in the other part of the building.

It was painful to think about, so Y/N tried her best not to think about those kinds of thoughts. Her heart was already aching, broken. Pushing those thoughts away is one of the things she could do to lessen the pain. A simple form of self love that she doesn't even have at this point because she loved Draco Malfoy even more than herself.

How can you love someone else when you don't even love you?

When they got back for their fifth year at Hogwarts, Draco instantly got himself a new girlfriend. Her name's Astoria, and Y/N couldn't deny the fact that she looked so much like her, and she acts so much like her. Even Y/N's friends noticed how similar this Astoria was with Y/N.

Y/N was sitting by the fireplace in the Hufflepuff common room. It was already November, and the Christmas season is just around the corner. The air is already cold, and snow might fall anytime soon. But Y/N haven't moved on yet. She was still hurting, she was still broken. But she was trying to move forward, because she met new amazing friends who is helping her in her healing process. Her new set of friends are not forcing her to heal--but they are there to help her. They are a shoulder to cry on, someone who will hug her when she needs to be held, and she just made a right decision to befriend them.

Anne, Katelyn, and Marielle are sitting with Y/N by the fireplace. Marielle was cuddling Y/N because Y/N just finished one of her break down sessions because she saw Draco with Astoria that day, and she got overwhelmed by the amount of homework given to them by their professors. To add to that, she got humiliated by Professor Snape in Potions, just because she messed up a step in doing a potion in his class. To make it more worse, Draco had the same class as her, and she can't believe that she made a fool of herself in front of her ex.
