CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO

MARTINA'S POV

I don't understand Tere. She initiated the kiss, I mean jusko! Naka-ilang tanong ako sa kanya kung itutuloy ko ba, and she never stopped me. She always closed my mind and mouth with her kisses. I was drowning in her kisses!

"Fairy Queen, are you sure na wala na kayong kailangan?"

Napabalik ako sa reyalidad nang marinig ko ang boses ni Charlotte na nakatayo sa tapat ng desk ko. I told her this morning to tell the fairies that they don't have to be at work today, para makapagpahinga na muna sila bago ang stressful weeks kapag malapit na ang fashion show.

But Charlotte still went here to check on me and make sure that everything was fine.

I let out a sigh before sitting straight on my swivel chair. "Yes, Char. Dapat hindi ka na nag-abalang pumasok. Everything's okay, you may go home." I gave her a reassuring smile.

"Sige po, Fairy Queen. Thank you for a day-off." She politely bowed her head before getting out of my office.

Bumalik naman ako sa pagkatulala. I took a glance at the shopping bags placed on the sofa that Tere used to sit on. Those are Martha and Tere's clothes that I bought in Thailand. Hindi ko sinabi kay Tere na binilhan ko siya.

Imagine! I'm pissed at her and yet nakuha ko pa siyang bilhan ng mga damit? Looks like I'll be taking a path away from what I'm used to. A path towards Tere.

I deeply sighed, laid my back against the chair, and closed my eyes. Memories of Tere came rushing to my mind. Most specifically are the memories in Thailand.

Now that I think of it, I really remembered something from our first night together in my unit. Something intimate happened between us, and the next morning, I found no one. I even remembered her saying that it was her first time.

That actually made me smile. I'm her first, and I would like to be her last.

With that thought, I stood up from my chair and picked up my coat and phone. I plan to confront Tere. Bahala na kung itulak niya ako palayo, I want her to have a bigger part in my life.

I walked towards the door and opened it, but to my surprise, Noah was there and was about to knock.

"Hey, Martina." He forced a smile. I couldn't help but look at him from toe to head. He looked like a mess. I mean scraggly beard, untidy hair, and bags under his eyes.

"What happened to you?" I worriedly asked.

"Can I come in?"

Without a word, I nodded and opened the door wider. Nauna na akong pumasok ulit saka kumuha ng isang basong tubig para sa kanya.

I saw him still standing up in the middle of the room, just staring at me. Inabot ko naman sa kanya yung baso. "Thanks." He quickly drank the water before looking at me, again. "You look well."

"And you look like a mess. What happened to you?" I know we broke up but I still care for him as a friend. "You can sit down, Noah." I gestured to the chair in front of my desk.

He shook his head. "Nah, I won't take long."

I'm starting to feel uncomfortable under his stares.

"Looks like I'm the only one who got affected by the break-up." He let out an awkward laugh. "How are you, Martina?"

I cleared my throat. "I'm fine, Noah. How about you?"
