CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

MARTINA'S POV

Everyone was in chaos inside the hospital. It wasn't just a typical accident. Five cars were involved.

A strong typhoon was to be expected. Because of that, there were slippery roads, heavy rains, blurry windows, and... accidents.

Anyways, Tere and Jester were fast to run towards the nurse's station to look for their family.

"Are you the guardian of the patients?" tanong ng babaeng nurse.

"Yes. Theresia Myers."

"The patients are in the ICU."

I can hear her sobs. Jester was hugging her, calming her down.

"K-Kasalanan ko 'to. K-Kasalanan ko—" Tere cried.

"Ate, none of this is your fault, okay?

I wanted to hug her and console her but my feet won't move. All I could do was watch her cry from afar until a doctor came out of the ICU.

"Who's the legal guardian of Martha Myers?" the doctor asked.

Tere quickly stood up at lumapit sa doctor. "I-I'm her mother. A-Anong nangyari sa anak ko?" S-So, what Trecia said is true? T-Then why lie, Tere?

"We have to perform blood transfusion to the patient, Ma'am," sabi ng doctor na ikinamura ni Jester.

"Do you have any relatives that have the same as hers, Ma'am?"

Para namang natahimik ang buong kapaligiran. Tere and Jester were deep in their thoughts, as well as I.

I couldn't help but walk ahead and ask the doctor. "Ano bang blood type nung bata?"

"AB negative."

Para naman akong nakahinga ng maluwag. "We have the same type. Where should I go?"

"Martina—" I heard Tere's voice.

I turned my head in her direction and smiled. "She'll be okay." I looked back to the doctor and he showed me the way.

Days passed and everything was better.

I have nothing against the fact that she got pregnant at hindi siya kasal sa ama ni Martha. What I'm concerned about was the fact that she hid Martha, saying that the kid was her brother's.
