The Princess and the Kaitou

Chapter 8

After that night, the two started write and exchange letters, everynight. It's a start for thier friendship. They only exchanging thier letters is just put right on the railing on Queen's balcony. They just don't want to send the letters by mail, if they did, what would Queen's parents react that thier daughter sending or receiving letters from a thief.

Queen learned everything about Joker; he's smart, mischivious, a glutton, being lazy, caring and loyal to his friends and family. She read all of his letters, about his adventures and travelling around the world, hunting and stealling treasures.

Queen is so envious, she want this kind of freedom like him, travel the whole world, adventuring, seeing new things, make new friends. Sometimes she wish to be free away from the palace to cherrish the outside world for this moment.

As for Joker, he learned everything about the princess; she's sweet, kind, having a sweet craved of straberries, courageous, a swinging battle axe monster and she loved and caring to her family.

Joker is also envious, reading the princess' letters about her family makes him misses his family more. His parents were long gone, he tried to move on and to find a purpose in his life until Kaitou Silverheart came in and rescued him and became his apprentice for many years to become the best phantom thief. Sometimes he wish his parents were with him.

It was now afternoon, 5 days after that night, Queen was sitting in her desk starring on her blank paper, twirlling her pen thinking what to write in her paper.

She groaned banged her head in defeat, didn't have any interesting to write, she give up and think of something what would she do, some sort of activities, so that she could write something.

Queen jolted when she heard a knock on her door, she quickly grabbed her notebook, pretended to study. She ask the person to enter. It was her maid.

"Your highness, your father wants you to go to his study"

Queen arched her brow confused "What did my papa want with me?"

"It's the invitation for your birthday, of course"

Oh right.... papa wants me to help the invitation... I completely forgot about that...

"Okay... Tell him I'll be there after I finnish reading.."

Her maid nodded and leave.

After she finnish reading, Queen went to her father's study to help the invitation for her birthday. They're only invite thier friends, family, and thier alliance.

Queen look at the invitation, sigh heavily. "This is going to be a boring party" she mumble.

The reasons it's boring that she didn't have any to talk about to. Some princesses talk to her, but only her beauty, princes and some gowns and as for the princes, they talk about how great they were or they just trying to woo her. She dosen't like this kind of conversation.

Queen something struck in her mind. Maybe she should invite him, hope her father add one more geust.

"Hey... papa?"

"Yes, Queen?"

Queen look away, nervously "can I invite one person... he's a friend of mine, a pen pal.... and I just want to invite to my birthday party... it's way more fun when I with him...." fidgeting her fingers.

The king look at her, smile in sincere "well... that makes you happy... so of course..."

Queen look up to him "Really...?"

Her father nodded "I'll send the invit-" but he cut off by Queen.

"Oh... no no no... I'll send him the invitation"

Her father arch his brow, confused "are you sure...?"

Queen nodded "yes... I will"

It was almost midnight at the sky joker. Joker laying on his bed reading the context of the letter from the princess that he brought an hour ago.

He read every word, every sentences and paragraph in the letter. Then he suddenly sat up quickly when he read the last part.

Can we meet at my balcony in person, tomorrow night, there's something I want to give it to you.

Joker read that part all over again, if this was is an illusion. But it's real, really real. The princess want to meet him.

And he was so scared and nervous.

Tomorrow night, Queen is pacing back and fort, waiting for Joker. She's so nervous that his going to meet him face-to-face, even though they already see each other when they first met.

"Hey... princess.."

Queen jolted look at the familliar voice. It's Joker, sitting on the railing, wearing his red suit, purple mask and blue hat, without his purple cape.

The two were on an akward silence, don't know what to say next. The two start to feel nervous and scared.

"Sooo..." Joker trailed trying to break the akward silence "Is there a reason... that you want to meet me in person.... you said there's something you want to give something to me" scratching his head, embarras.

"Well..." Queen look up to him and hand him a pink letter "this is the reason I want to give this to you"

Joker hold the pink letter confused "So... you want to give me this letter?.... you know... we already been like this..." slightly laugh

Queen look at Joker in determine look make him nervously scared "Just open it you idiot..."

Joker nervously open the letter, and see what's inside. He take it and read it make his eyes wide in surprised. It's an invitation. The invition of the princess' bitrhday party.

"An... invitation.. to your birthday party?... you really inviting me?"

Queen facing away flushed nervously, fidgeting her her fingers "Yeah... You're really fun to talk to, and this is way more easier to communicate with each other... right?"

Joker blinked in surprised "Uh...Y-yeah... that's great... but what about our phones... you know.... phones can communicate easily too" Joker said slightly smiled

"I know that!... it's just... I just want to talk with you in person.... the party is way more boring without you..." Queen explained nervously not looking at Joker

Joker flushed, he look away used his hat to hide his flushed face. He look at the invitation his holding then back to Queen.

"Okay... I'll come to your party" Joker said

Queen look up to him in surprise "really...? you'll come?"

Joker crosses his arms look away pouted "Of course I will... and I'll just want to know you, face-to-face... it's even way more easier than exchanging letters... and you know how hard grammar is?"

Queen giggled made Joker's heart skipped a beat. He smiled lovingly at her wanting to hear her laugh again.
