Chapter 26

Joker is in his control room, getting to his destination to palace of emerald. He's quite a bit nervous that his going to help Queen sneak out the palace and he's also annoyed that Spade told his Master Silver Heart about Queen. He had the urged to pull his greatest feature - his mohawk - but he just don't want lose his cool.

"So... you're going to pick her up?"

Joker knows whose voice and that is Spade. He's don't want look at him in the eye... "mhmm" he nodded.

Spade sigh, poker face at him "don't tell me you're still angry at me?"

He grip his stearring wheel in irratation "of course I am... I'm supposed to tell master about Queen and I can't believe that you did it again!"

Spade smiled smugly "Again with what?"

"First, you told about my foam explosion exit from one of my heist at Paris to Queen and now you told Master about Queen?!"

"And Roko too"

He banged his head on the stearring wheel "You told him too?!"

Spade shook his head, shrugged his shoulders like there's no big deal "well he's in the same room with Master, you know... of course I'm going tell him"

He gritted his teeth with a cringe face. Who knew that Spade can be so confidently sly about things. He breathe in, trying to calm his nerves and return to his job until he caught his eyes that there's a huge smoke with fire kilometers away. His eyes wide in horror.

Spade notice the dark smoke, he nervously fear that there's something wrong right infront of them... "Uh... Joker you notice it too, right?"

"Of course it is, I'm not blind!" He shakily said, fearing the worst and it's also Queen's palace or hoping maybe a different building. "Spade looked closer if that's the Palace of Emerald or... something!"

Soade nodded and looked at the coordinates carefully then he nervously, shaking, sweating in fear. "Uh... Joker... it looks like the Palace of Emerald... and it's already in flames..."

"What?!" He said shakily in fear "you can't be serious aren't you?!" He quickly grabbed his phone on his pocket if Queen send some messages and he saw 5 miss calls on Queen and 1 message. He quickly press on his notiffication and read.

"Joker... Help! There's something in the palace... I need help!"

"It's from Queen... and she needs help!" He said worriedly he grip tighter on his stearring wheel... "I need to go and saved her!"

Spade put his hand on Joker's shoulder, gripped tightly "I'm coming with you and there's a lot of people there... I don't want you to go there alone in that fire!"

Joker looked at him surprised then he smile. He's glad that he has a friend and rival like him. He nodded and set his ariship to auto pilot.

The two walk out the control room and went to see Master, Roko, Hachi and Darkeye.

"Hey, what's the rush?" Hachi said as he set the plates on the table.

"Me and Spade have to go yo Palce of Emerald, there's a fire and the people are in there are in danger including the royal family!" Joker explain.

"What?... why it is on fire?" Hachi said worriedly.

"Queen saids there's something in the palace or they must been invaded... all of you stay here and keep eye on the airship and I'll call you we're done!"

Spade glanced at his assistant "Darkeye, you pilot this airship" she nodded and went to control room

Silver heart Quickly stand up and stop the two worried Kaitous "I'm comming with you... I don't want my apprentencies in danger.... besides, there's people in there and I don't let it happen because life is more valuable than treasure"

Spade and Joker glanced at each and nodded, agree to what their Master said. They have to save everyone because lives are all in danger and they don't want let that happen.

"Dear, what's happening?" The queen ranned to her husband in the hallway, near the treasure with a cough. There's so much smoke around and fire and she don't want to escape this palace without her family.

"What are you doing here?" He wquickly glanced at her with a worried look, ignoring his wife's question "you must evacuate with Queen... I have to stay here and get to the bottom of this mess!"

"No! I don't want to leave you like this and Queen is not in her room!" She said, clinging in his arms

Before he could answer until he heard a laugh inside the treasure room. The royal couple quickly ranned inside the treasure and gasp in horror.

A lot of dead knights lying on floor and there's a man smiling at the huge hourglass - the Emerald Hourglass - and touching the glass with his hands.

He notice the royal couple watching him. He glanced at them with an evil grin on his mask face. "Good evening your Majesties... do you like what happen here?"

The king step infront of his wife, protecting her and held out his sword "Who are you? And what do you want?"

"My name is Professor Clover and I'm going to steal your precious Emerald Hourglass... and ended this small country" he grinned evily and glanced at the hourglass reflection, he chuckled "heheheh....I've never knew you had this huge hourglass rather than the small one I stole 30 years ago" he digged out his pocket and reveal a neckless hanged a small hourglass.

The king eyes wide in horror, seeing a familliar sight on Clover's hand. He recall seeing his beloved older sister -Princess Quintessa - wearing everyday and everytime he sees her. "It's... The Stardust Time..." he breathely said and his mind clicked in realisation, seeing his dead sister on her bed "You killed my sister!!"

Clover maniacally laugh "Hahaha.. I know what I have to do... All I want is to steal the most precious thing on earth... this treasure and your life!.... you're going to be happy to see your sister again in the afterlife!!" He pull out his gun, aim at the scared royal couple and pull the trigger.
