A terrible, throbbing headache was responsible for waking Olivia up the next morning. She let out an involuntary groan, which was the only sound in the flat, letting her know she was the first to wake. The bright sunlight filtering into the room through the curtains and hurting her eyes also told her it was much later in the day than she would usually wake.
She lied there for a few moments, the hazy memories of the night slowly coming back to her.
She remembered that the day before was New Year's Eve, meaning today was New Year's Day, and yesterday was a Wednesday, so today must be Thursday. It's a good thing we work for ourselves, she thought, or we'd be in deep shite right about now. But then she remembered that Angelina, Alicia, and Lee had been over, and she hoped for their sakes that they didn't have to go into work today.
She remembered the countless bottles of firewhisky covering the kitchen table before the evening had begun. Literally countless, because her mind was still much too clouded to remember just how much there was. Judging by how terrible she felt, it was more than plenty, and she made a mental note that maybe it was a bad idea to allow Fred and George to go by themselves to purchase it.
Then it hit her.
George.
She turned and looked to her left, seeing the man in question fast asleep next to her in their bed. By looking at him, she could vaguely remember the two of them standing out in the living room, hand-in-hand, with Fred and their friends surrounding them. What the hell? she thought, but then she remembered Fred's words.
"Brilliant, you're married. Go on, then. Smooch."
Married.
She and George had finally gotten married last night. She still couldn't remember what led up to it, and perhaps she never would, but she did remember that, at least.
A few bottles of firewhisky and she had become Olivia Weasley.
She couldn't help the smile that grew on her face. It didn't happen the way she had expected it to, but it finally happened, and even if she couldn't remember every single detail, she would never regret it.
She was, however, curious to see just how much cleaning up she would be needing to do. So, she pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead before slowly getting up out of the bed, feeling a bit shaky as she did so. Going over to her closet and throwing something on beforehand, she walked out of her bedroom and carefully closed the door behind her to allow George to get some more sleep. At the same time, she heard another quiet click of the door across the hall being closed, and she looked up to see a hungover Angelina coming out of Fred's bedroom.
A smirk appeared on Olivia's face as she said, "Morning."
Angelina shook her head, struggling to keep from grinning. "Not a single word," she said.
Olivia held up her hands in surrender before the two of them walked away to the living room. Looking around, they saw empty bottles of firewhisky absolutely everywhere, along with Alicia and Lee passed out, the former on the sofa and the latter on the floor.
"Oh, boy," Olivia muttered.

After working through the worst part of their hangovers, cleaning up their flat, and making sure their friends got back to their own homes safely, it came time for George and Olivia to let their family and other friends know about their marriage. To their surprise and humor, the majority of them, mostly being family, did not believe that they had actually gotten married. Of course, Fred was always there and willing to corroborate their story, but it seemed that the twins' reputation of being the biggest pranksters that any of these people had ever met in their lives was not helping them in this situation. However, when the couple asked why in the hell they would lie about being married, no one could really give them an answer, which just told them that their family members were simply in denial and would come around eventually.
It didn't take much discussion between the two newlyweds to decide that a honeymoon was completely off of the table until the war was done and everything was safe again; they couldn't afford to be away in case something happened. They also considered the idea of having a normal ceremony and reception for their family to attend later on, also after the war.
Another week went by and then the Christmas holidays ended, meaning Evelyn, Fraser, Duncan, Arabella, and Ginny all had to go back to Hogwarts. And with them also went the slight and temporary feeling of relaxation that came with them being home.
