You were two years younger to your sister Morgan. You saw every girl in your grade talk and play with their siblings, but you never felt like that. You were always being compared to your sister, how she got better grades. You were trying your best, but somehow she managed to score better than you everytime and all you got was - You'll do better next time.

You were sick of hearing these words. They constantly reminded me of how unlike my family I was, how I would always remain everyone's second choice. You sighed picking your nails as your dad talked to the teacher. Soon the door opened.

"What'd he say ?" you ask walking towards the car.

"You're second in your grade, still a little weak at chemistry but don't worry you'll do better next time" he says smiling, you had a really big urge to burst into tears right then and there but you swallowed the lump. As you reached home your mom and Morgan stood there smiling brightly.

"Dad ! I am First in my grade !" she beamed and you scoffed shaking your head. You saw your dad whisper something into her ear and they both giggled.

"Let's go out to celebrate" Your mom suggests, and you definitely didn't feel like celebrating how you were a second choice, everywhere.

"No, you guys go ahead, I think imma stay back" you say walking inside. You turn around and see your family smiling and laughing. You felt they were better off without you.

You walked back inside and threw your bag across the room.

"Hey FRIDAY, open my art wall" you say and FRIDAY opens the doors from the wall revealing a whole wall covered in family sketches and sketches of suit designs. You grab a pencil and some paints as you settle down on the floor.

"I'll do better next time" you mumble to yourself.

You write - SECOND CHOICE - in bolds on the paper and shade it with various colors, all while crying silently.

Tony put Morgan to bed, he realized how sad and disturbed Y/N looked when they left. He poked his head in your room and saw you on the floor. He pushed open the door, he gasped as his eyes fell on the wall in front of him. He trailed his hand over each piece of art. He felt really bad for not acknowledging you enough for your talents. His eyes fell on the sheet of paper lying near her hands. He picked it up and his eyes filled with tears as he saw the words written on it.

SECOND CHOICE

He knew he had failed as a father, he had failed to make you feel loved and that you mattered.

"Daddy ?" he looked down to meet Y/N's embarrassed gaze. She quickly snatched the drawing and crumpled it.

"I-I w-was-" Tony cut her off by engulfing her in a hug. She tensed up at first but eventually hugged back as he felt her sob into his shoulder. He rubbed her back and helped her calm down.

"Honey, I am so proud of you. I'm sorry I never told you this before, but please never feel like we love you less. You're never a second choice" he says cupping her cheeks. She smiles and hugs him once more.

"I love you"

"Love you more"

"And I'm making everyone of those suits"
