"Oh god I hate going to space" Bucky grumbled walking to Tony's ship. Well, he wasn't wrong. Since the past whole month they'd been getting fake distress signals and they tried finding the source but couldn't. They were tired and frustrated.

"I second that" Nat says sitting beside Bucky and resting her head on his shoulder. The ship whirrs and everyone buckles up, preparing for the quantum leap. 

"Another hoax ?!" Tony yells angrily as the planet they landed on seemed pretty abandoned. Everyone groaned in annoyance, and started walking towards the ship.

"BOO !" a little voice yells followed by giggling. Everyone whips their heads in different directions but no one came to view. 

"Did everyone hear that ?" Steve questions and everyone nods slowly, still looking around for the source of the sound. 

Bucky's eyes land on a small figure looking at them from a distance. He squints his eyes to take a better look at the figure, he gasps in astonishment as he realizes the small figure is a small girl.

"Guys" he whispers, everyone turns their heads towards the direction Bucky was silently pointing to. Bucky slowly moves towards her, but suddenly shots start firing at them. He sees the little girl scream and hide behind a large rock.

"BUCKY !! WE HAVE TO LEAVE !!" Clint yells

"IN A MINUTE !" he yells back, running towards the rock. He sees the scared little girl, he smiles softly and scoops up her frail body in his arms and runs back to the ship.

"Bucky what ?!" Steve yells as he notices the girl crying silently  into Bucky's chest while clutching his shirt.

"Hey, are you okay ?" he asks trying to put her on the ground but she yelps and climbs back into Bucky's lap wrapping her arms around his neck.

"T-They h-hurt m-me" she stutters.

"No, we will not hurt you doll and neither will they" he says. She smiles a little and snuggles closer to him.

"Looks like she likes you metal man" Tony says and Bucky chuckles softly. Nat smiles and strokes her purple hair. Suddenly she changes the color of her hair from purple to Brown.

"Sorry, it's my powers, I can turn to shadows and when I do that my hair goes purple." she says and Nat nods.

"Is that why we weren't able to see you previously ?" Bucky asks and she nods sheepishly.

"We didn't get your name kiddo ?" Steve asks from across the ship.

"Y/N" she says softly. Her eyes get a little droopy and she rests her head on Bucky's shoulder before falling asleep

"She's badly hurt, but her body adjusts to the bruises with far more efficiency then ours. So she'll heal quickly. As she told she has the powers of turning to shadows, which we can't change, although she doesn't seem harmful" Bruce says reading off his hologram.

Bucky sighs in relief and slumps down in a chair. Peter walks out with a distressed look on his face.

"Mr. Barnes she is asking for you, she won't stop crying" he says and the moment the words leave his mouth, Bucky was on his feet.

He opens the door and sees Y/N sitting on the bed, rocking back and forth crying.

"Hey doll" he says and Y/N runs to him, jumping in his open arms. He holds her close to him and cradles her little body. Soon, she was falling asleep. Upon much pondering everyone agrees that it'll be better if she slept with Bucky for the night, seeing how she reacts when not with him.

Y/N jolted awake with a throbbing pain in her head, she looked beside her and saw Bucky squirming and struggling in his sleep. She quickly gathered that he was having a nightmare. She took a deep breathe and placed a hand on his forehead, a purple mist covered his head. He was strong, much stronger compared to Y/N. She closed her eyes shut tightly focusing on his nightmare, tears streamed down her face and her nose started bleeding as she shifted a peaceful dream to Bucky's brain and took his nightmare in her.

"Doll ?" Bucky questioned concern dripping in his voice, as he turned on the lamp. His eyes widened as he saw the state Y/N was in. 

"Oh my god doll ! Why did you do that ?" he asks picking her up and placing her in his lap. Suddenly her hair turns purple and she disappears from his lap.

Bucky ran to Steve and Tony's room and knocked loudly on there doors. Both of them stepped out groggily. 

"Buck ? What's wrong ?" Steve asks placing a hand on his shoulder.

Bucky explains everything to both of them. All three of them split up and went separate ways to find Y/N.

"BOO !" Steve's head whips behind him and he sees a familiar figure, he cautiously stepped closer to her and picked her up. Y/N started crying as she wanted Bucky. When both of them came into view Bucky ran to them and snatched her from Steve. He cradled her in his arms kissing her forehead and whispering apologies in her ear.

"We have to get the only person we know, who can help her control her magic" Tony says and everyone nods.

"Loki" they say in unison.

A week later Loki and Y/N had bonded quite easily as Loki helped her control her powers and stopped the abrupt disappearing. She was getting a hang of it. While they trained in the gym, Nat and Bucky had called everyone to the living room.

"What's up guys ?" Clint asks as everyone settles down on the couch.

"So, we've been thinking, that we want to adopt Y/N as a couple" Nat says smiling as Bucky holds her hand.

"Oh my god ! That's awesome guys !!" Steve yells hugging both of them. Everyone gives their approval, Wanda, Nat, Pepper and Aunt May went out to shop for Y/N while Steve, Bucky and Tony completed all the paper work necessary for the adoption.

"Papa !" Y/N yells running ahead of Loki, everyone's head snap in her direction, eyes wide. But the little girl was oblivious of their reactions.

"Hey doll" Bucky finally speaks after regaining his senses. He smiles widely when she wraps her hands around his neck and rests her head on his shoulder.

"You  made the right choice Buck"
