Uraraka and Bakugo pulled apart after a couple of moments and hugged each other.

He caressed her hair and kissed the top of her head.

"Happy New Year.", he said.

"Happy New Year.", she sighed.

They looked at each other and immediately began to laugh. Bakugo, of course tried to hide it but she was in a fit of giggles. One thing about their new relationship is that they could never be too serious in serious moments. They each knew how important this was however. They weight of the words they spoke that felt as light as a feather. Something neither of them wanted to toy around with.

They held hands and watched the fireworks a little while longer after finally saying what they were hiding for so long. He looked at the beautiful girl beside him and shook his head.

"How did I get so lucky?", he mumbled to himself.

"What was that?", she asked still dazed and smiling from their kiss.

"I said let's go back inside- its getting cold and you don't need to be getting sick."

"I think you just don't like the cold.", she replied smugly her face still red.

"Whatever roundface.", he said putting his hand out for her to grab.

She grabbed his hand and was now dragging him back down into the attic space. They both instantly felt warm and sighed at the feeling. They atmosphere felt clear but stuffy. They felt like they should say something but didn't know what. She thought of something quickly however, a plan she already had.

"Heyyy, guess what?"

"Yeah?"

"I lied."

"What?"

"I was kidding earlier..."

Bakugo stood in disbelief at the oblivious girl.
She blinked a couple times and then her eyes shot open.

"OH! No NO! I meant-I'm sorry- I meant about the present. I lied about not getting you a present!"

"You really know how to give someone a heart attack.", Bakugo exhaled sitting down.

"I'm sorry!", she wheezed. "I thought I would've given you the present before, y'know, all that and I already had it mentally prepared in my brain. Then I saw all the lights and got all excited."

"Sounds like you.", he said rubbing his temples.

"Anyways!", she sung. "Here!"

She placed a large deep red bag in front of him and Bakugo looked around bewildered.

"How did you hide this thing? You're telling me I didn't see it already?"

"Course not! Then it wouldn't be a surprise!", she giggled putting her hands in the air. "Open it! Open it!"

Bakugo chuckled and popped the bag open with a swift but careful motion.

A box.

"If this is a trick where I open a bunch of boxes and there's nothing"-

"I swear it's not! Keep going!", she said her eyes gleaming.

"Why did you"-, he opened up the box to find another box. "Why did you even say you didn't get me a present if you did? You were so upset about it."
