Happy Birthday, Ochaco!

Uraraka got straight up out of bed once her 8am alarm went off. She instantly became dizzy but trudged to the bathroom to get ready. She wanted to look perfect no matter what answer he gave. As far as he's concerned, she didn't shed a tear last night. It was her birthday and she was going to make the most of it. If Bakugo ended up rejecting her completely, she would go out with her girls and have a fun day.

She brushed her teeth with a determined look in her eye. Her hair was still a mess and she had toothpaste foaming in her mouth. She put her finger on the mirror and winked.

"You look hot.", she said to her reflection. She did a small twirl and kept brushing her teeth. No matter what happened today, she was 18 years old, and she was going to enjoy this new adult life. At least for today. She knew she would hate it once she got back to work and had to work longer shifts. Or make her own doctors appointments. Or apply for insurance. Or stop lying to older men about her age when they flirted with her.

She looked in the mirror and poked her cheeks.

"Nah, I can still get away with that one.", she said looking at her baby face. "Plus, I'm short."

She put her hair into two pretty space buns and searched through her closet for clothes.

What says I love you and I want us to stop playing games and be official?....Kakis?

She rose her eyebrow and looked at the long, baggy light brown cargo pants.

I mean, I was just kidding, but this will work.

She grabbed a black long sleeve turtleneck and her black Timberlands. She groaned when she pulled her turtleneck over her head and messed up her hair.

Why would I do that? I've never done that. I need to go back to bed.

She fixed her hair and saw the necklace in the corner of her eye. She reached for it and put it on her neck with shakey hands along with her signature silver watch.

Her face had cleared up, presumably from her crying last night, so she decided to only put on some lipgloss and brush out her eyebrows.

Why am I so nervous? Stop being nervous.

She began to mess with her hands as she walked out of the bathroom. She ate a light breakfast and twiddled her bangs as she began to put her phone and wallet into her bag along with other miscellaneous stuff. She put on her white puffy coat and Bakugo's scarf she still had. She fiddled with her Koro-Sensei keychain as she approached the door.

She put her hand on the door knob but didn't turn.

Should I even do this? Why am I even trying to pull off some declaration of love? On my birthday of all days? Maybe I should just go with my friends today and try again tomorrow. No need to add the extra heartache.

She checked her phone again and didn't see a single text from Bakugo. She saw a couple messages from her early bird classmates, and some happy birthday posts from the smaller media, but didn't see anything from him.

You know, yeah, I'll just text him later, no need to bother him this early. I'm still a little upset at him anyway.

Just as her hand left the door knob, three loud knocks were at the door. She jumped back slightly, but moved to look through her faded peep hole. She peered and tried to look through, but could only see pink.

"Please don't tell me this is an eviction notice or something, dad just paid rent!", she groaned.

She opened the door and still she saw nothing but pink...and pants.
