The summer holidays were surprisingly a lot more peaceful than you have ever imagined. Lucius and Narcissa did not seem interested in dwelling on what happened last year. Lucius was still very embarrassed about the whole ordeal with the chamber, knowing Dumbledore and two twelve-year-olds could see through his plan, and then he was fired from the board of governors.
Dumbledore had to legally inform them of the seal and of it breaking. Narcissa asked about it a lot, she was very interested, Lucius on the other hand, was not. Every time Narcissa or Draco brought it up, he would shut the whole conversation down.
It made you feel trapped. You couldn't talk about your powers, your friends or your achievements. You couldn't freely talk about anything going on in your life, not with Lucius in the room anyway.
He also tried to block you from talking to your friends. Though he never admitted it aloud. You thought he was worried about your magic going bonkers again. Yet he still monitored your owl, Onyx, not that it helped, you still managed to exchange letter with your friends Ron and Hermione on weekly basis.
You wrote to your friend, and crush, Harry, all the time too. You knew he could never answer, his awful muggle aunt and uncle hated magic, and seemed to be constantly doing everything they could to make his life miserable. Which included, not letting him communicate with his school friends.
Still, you send the letters all the same.
Ron had excitedly told you about how his father won a large amount of cash and the whole family were able to visit his eldest brother Bill in Egypt. He attached a photo of his family, looking very happy. You couldn't think of anyway who deserved it more than the Weasleys.
Hermione meanwhile was spending her holidays with her parents in France. She sent you pictures of the Eiffel tower. And suggested you all meet up at London in the last week of the Holidays. You weren't sure that was possible with your parents tight watch, but you could try.
Writing to Hermione and Ron was easy, writing to Harry, however, had suddenly become very difficult. You spend hours rephrasing things, spilling all your feeling for him onto the page, then getting embarrassed about it and scratching it all out, just to replace it with a generic 'I miss you, can't wait to see you again!'.
You just couldn't help it. Harry and you have declared your crushes for each other just last year, you were very curious to see if anything would come of it. You hoped something would come of it...
You have thought long and hard about what to get Harry for his birthday. For Christmas last year, Harry got you a beautiful crystal telescope that you had been using none stop since you first got your hands on it. You had to think of something equally as special...
"If mom figures out we sneaked out, we're dead."
"You want that exclusive pack or not?"
You leaned over a side of building, watching various wizards in fancy clothes walk past the various shops, none of them even seem to be paying attention.
