You couldn't hold yourself back when you saw him.
Dropping your trunk, you rushed at Harry, throwing your arms around him, jumping full forced to hug him. He caught your waist, swaying and trying to regain balance, as the surprise nearly caused you both to fall over.
Harry was still small and skinny, but he grew taller over the holidays, really towering over you, while you were still desperately waited for your growth spurt to kick in. His unruly black hair was still just as messy, thought he appeared to have flattered it to his forehead to hide his scar. He must have done that for the same reason he didn't give Stan his real name.
After what felt like forever you finally broke away, both blushing.
"What are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the same thing."
Stan chuckled brining over your trunk and setting it by the bed next to Harry's.
"You're going to the same place, London, Leaky Cauldron."
You both sat on your own beds, facing each other with excitement. Cricket came over and jumped to stretch himself over Harry's lap.
Then the bus started and you had to hold onto to the bed frame not to fall off it. It wasn't like anything you ever experienced before.
With a loud pop the bus was already rushing down a totally different road, and you were sure you were miles from home already. The bus was so fast it made your head spin. Any obstacle, including trees, benches and lamps jumped out of the way as it constantly changed position. Your beds got thrown with ever new turn, you had to put your legs up so they don't accidentally get crushed between the bedframes. The drivers crazy steering was making you very nervous.
Stan chuckled at your terrified expression. Cricket somehow found himself off of Harry's lap and clinging onto your shoulder, hiding his head in your hair. Harry also looked uncomfortable but he had already been through the original shock.
"Better go wake up Madamn Marsh, Stan," said the driver rushing through the some towns main road "We'll be in Abergavenny in a minute."
Wake up? You couldn't imagine anyone falling asleep on this travel, between the constant loud popping and the bed bumping into eachother.
Stan nodded and went to the back of the bus, walking up the little wooden stairs to the next level.
Even from ground level the view was concerning, it must have been even more disorienting travelling on the higher levels.
After a minute or two, Stan returned leading a fable old lady in slippers and a long travelling cloak.
"'Ere you go, Madam Marsh." Stan said.
The driver slammed on the brake and the bus came to a sudden stop in the middle of a fancy looking street, throwing the beds forward a few inches. Madam Marsh wiped her mouth with a handkerchief and then gently stepped down the stairs. Stan shoved off her baggage after her. Then the door closed.
