Ever since the Firebolt arrived in the display Harry and you came to ogle it every single day.
Of course, you both thought it was amazing.
The broom was beautiful made of dark ebony, polished to perfection with a gleaming shine. Each twig was straight and undisturbed. The golden writing on the side said 'Firebolt' with a registration number under it.
Price on Request.
You weren't the only ones excited to see it, there was always a crowd around the display and multiple of your school friends, including Dean Thomas and Seamus Finnigan, came along to see it. No one seemed to have bought it yet though, no wonder since it was bound to be very expensive.
"I never lost a match on Nimbus 2000," Harry continued ensuring himself "I don't need a new broom."
You watched the broom float in place. You knew Harry really wanted it, but he was also right – he already had a totally fine broom which he won every match he participated in on. Besides he still needed the money his parents left him for the rest of his years in Hogwarts.
"...but you need a broom..."
You looked at him, caught off guard.
Once again he was right, you needed a broom.
You wanted a broom.
Ever since you learned your mother was a great and chased Quidditch star, you were very determined to learn the game and follow in her footsteps. You wanted to feel connected to her in all ways possible, including getting on the team at some point.
To try out – you needed a broom.
The Firebolt would cost a fortune, and tho money typically wasn't an issue for you, you weren't sure how much longer you could depend on your parents.
You took out your money bag, which was very big – for a money bag. Your parents had always given you and Draco a pretty hefty allowance.
You started counting.
"You're gonna want to borrow it the moment I buy it, won't you?" You asked Harry.
He didn't reply but he did smirk.
You both entered the shop and headed through the crowd to the counter.
"500 Galleons."
You and Harry nearly fainted hearing the price. 500? That was one hefty-priced broom.
You really had to think this over carefully. You had 700 Galleons on you currently so you could afford it but damn it would be a big chunk of your money gone. It would kind of an insane purchase to make on the fly.
But hey, you NEEDED the broom, right? So it was okay...
The order was approved and the clerk brought out the broom wrapped in brown paper.
