Chapter 14: Trust

Luna's P.O.V.

Aspen, Leon, and me were running after Rookie. Then she disappeared as we were chasing after her.

"Where did she go?" I asked, looking around.

"Don't know." said Leon.

"Guys over here!" yelled Aspen. She was looking down a dirt slope. Me and Leon went beside her and we both looked down into it.

"Maybe she went down here." suggested Aspen.

"Maybe." said Leon.

"Don't know if we don't look." I said. Aspen and Leon looked at me confused. I backed up and slid down the slope. Rocks and dirt followed me but I didn't care. When I was fully down I saw a cave and heard voices coming inside of it.

After a little bit Leon and Aspen were down here with me .

"LUNA!" yelled Aspen. I looked at her then put a finger on mouth. Telling her to shut up!

She looked at me confused and then came up to me behind a tree.

"What are you doin?" whispered Aspen.

"Someone is in there." I whispered back.

"Who?" she asked.

"I don't know." I answered back.

"Should we go inside?" Leon asked.

I turned around and saw him behind us.

"WHERE THE HELL DID YOU COME FROM!" I whisper yelled.

"I was here the whole fucking time." he answered.

I just looked into his dark navy eyes confused.

"Are we going to go in or not?" asked Aspen.

"Let's just go inside." I said, not knowing if that was a good decision or not.

We all walked up to the entrance of the cave. Once we were up to the entrance I could see Rookie and a black kitten with red and sharp white teeth. Rookie had the kitten in her arms hugging it like it was the last piece of chocolate.

"Rookie?" asked Aspen.

She looked at us and her eyes went wide. She put the kitten behind her and started to growl.

"Calm down, we aren't going to hurt you." I said.

She just continued to growl at us.

"Rookie, do you still not trust us?" asked Aspen, a bit offended.

"I have to protect him/her." snapped Rookie.

"We aren't going to hurt it." I snapped back.

"his/her name is Zurjo." snarled Rookie.

"Does it look like I care? Why the hell do I even care about you or any of this." I questioned.

"What do you mean?" asked Aspen.

"All of this wouldn't have happened if we never saved her from those stuipd hunters dudes." I snapped.

"Luna what are you trying to say?" asked Aspen again.

"I don't want anything to do with this anymore.

I already have enough problems from my mom. I don't need this on top." I snapped. I couldn't deal with this anymore. I have to deal with so much at home, and with this! I just needed a break from everything. All it was supposed to be was saving a dying wolf and then going back to my normal life not having to deal with a wolf who can turn into a human, THAT DOESN'T EVEN TRUST US!

"You didn't even thank us for saving your life!" I yelled. "I mean you don't even know how much I had to sacrifice just to help you, the least that you could do is TRUST US!"

I turned around and stormed out of the cave leaving the others dumbfounded.
