I intended to have a good time but that didn't seem to be happening which these two being within 5 feet of each other.

Xavier and I, Gen, Cody and Dominic had all made it down for the Crawfish Festival. As suspected, Xavier and Dominic were all but getting along. Even Jason and Nessa came, as friends.

And I'll be honest, I expected Dom to be on some funny shit, but he was being respectable and a friend. Actually.

But Xavier wasn't so swayed by his good behavior. In fact, he made sure to keep close to me through the festival. Not that I minded his doting attention. It was cute.

I squeezed his hand as we walked and he glanced at me before smirking.

"Ooooooo shrimp bitch." Gen spoke happily, stopping at a tent.

"I can't believe y'all get a whole festival for...crawfish." I said which made Nessa laugh.

"Don't be a hater." She replied to me.

Xavier draped his arm around me. "But you liked it tho. Shit be bussin don't it?"

"It was good."

Dominic laughed.

"It's more than good, ya tastebuds different."

I made a face at him and he waved me off.

Cody laughed at all of us.

"Y'all are funny."

"Thanks Pop Pop." I gave him a smile and he gave me a straight face.

"I'll take back ya wedding invite."

"Uh uh, I'm basically planning it. I better be in family seating."

I looked around and smiled when I saw a stand with corn dogs. Home sweet home.

"Babe...."

Xavier followed my gaze and he groaned.

"You and these fuckin corn dogs."

"Come on, come on, come on!"

I dragged him behind me towards the booth and he laughed at me softly.

"All this home cooked food around you, all this seafood and you want a deep fried wiener."

I was about to say something nasty in return but I decided against it, but Xavier caught my glance and laughed to himself.

"You nasty."

"I didn't even say anything."

"I know what you were thinking?"

"Which was?" I asked. Waiting for him to answer since he knows everything.
