Where am I? What is this?

"In a sense, you're home. But not quite." I heard a soft sweet voice behind me and I turned around. Seeing a beautiful brown skin woman. Draped in white, black curls cascading down her back. Her smile gave me warmth, and her eyes gave me comfort.

"So you're the one."

"The one what?"

She laughed softly, stepping toward me.

"The one who has my son so head over heels."

I looked at her confused. Her son?

"He loves you so much. He's always had a big heart, even when he's mad at you he can't seem but to love unconditionally."

Wait....

"Are you....are you Xaviers mom?"

"Well I did carry him for 9 months but I don't know if I'd call myself a mom. I wasn't the best to him."

"Am I dead?"

"No. You're somewhere in the middle. You've got a group of folk, including my baby boy waiting for you to open up those eyes. But if you don't wanna go back....you don't have to."

I shook my head.

"Xavier....Xavier found out what actually happened to you."

"What happened to me?" She asked confused.

"Yes. you're sister...she did this to you. Out of jealousy, because she wanted Daniel."

She nodded.

"I know. As soon as I woke up here, I knew. You know when they say your life flashed you by? It does and then some. I've seen every right and wrong against me as well as my own."

"So why would you say you weren't good to Xavier, it wasn't your fault."

"It wasn't my fault. But I still continued the habit. I didn't try hard enough to get clean for him. For myself." She paused. "Feeling at fault is tricky. You believe that I hold no fault or accountability in how I loved my son the wrong way......but Xavier is looking upon you now. In a hospital bed blaming himself for your being there."

"What? He didn't- this isn't his fault."

"You did what you did out of sadness? Because you two weren't together."

"Yes but....this isn't on him. He needs to know that."

"You could tell him. All you have to do is wake up. It's been days now."
