Things change. But that's not always a bad thing. The previous plan, involved me heading away to school by now. But now that I'm pregnant, the plan has changed. I'm sure the time will fly by quickly, and if I'm being honest, this will give me much needed time to be alone. Xavier and I didn't quite stick to our "we need distance" plan. Like I said.....plans change. Now there's a literal 1,383 mile gap between us. We have no choice but to stick shit out by ourselves. Connected only by phone. August went by so quickly and Xavier has started his classes at Duke. Jason is there with him, and Vanessa is in California. Upside! Genevieve and Cody moved back to Texas, because Cody is opening his own law firm. Gen transferred her credits and is going to finish out here in Texas. So I'm not completely friendless. I-
My phonerang, interrupting my train of thought as I wrote in my journal.
I grabbed it and answered quickly with a smile on my face as I pressed it to my ear.
"Hi baby!"
"Ugh. I miss your fuckin voice." Xavier said, making me laugh.
"I miss your everything. How's classes so far?"
"They cool, they cool. I ain't run into no hard-ass professors yet. We gon hope it stay that way."
"How's the apartment?"
"It's dope baby. I'm still putting shit up, waiting for furniture I ordered that you liked. But we got a bed so I'm chillin."
I laughed and leaned back into my pillows.
"How's my favorite girl and my babies?"
"We're fine. I went to see Dr. Kyles yesterday, she said my blood pressure was a little high. So I've been taking it easy. Daddy been bringing me food even tho I told him I could do it myself, but he doesn't let me do anything. Unless it's the driving lesson."
"Aye I'm wit pops. Gotta make sure all 3 of you are good. You need to make sure you getting sleep, cuz I know yo ass be up at night."
I rolled my eyes. "I can't get comfortable Micah!"
"You need me to getchu one of them pregnancy pillows? I thought you would need that further down the line."
"Me too but maybe I do. Plus, I don't have you to cuddle."
"Ahhh, so you just miss daddy."
"Shut up."
His laugh filled my ears and it made me relax and blush. What I wouldn't give to wrapped up in his arms right now.
"Glad he put yo ass behind a wheel tho. Need that."
"Whatever. Ima be driving better than you in no time."
