Tonight, our house was filled to the brim with chaos and excitement as JJ, Michael, Henry, and I are trying to get ready for Rossi's annual Christmas Eve dinner. Every year, he invites the members of our team over and a flood of spouses and kids accompany them. Our boys were with us this Christmas so they would be joining us this evening; they were particularly excited to see Jack and he was all they could talk about before we left.

While JJ and I were in our bathroom trying to make ourselves presentable, Henry came barreling in, "Momma is Jack gonna be there?"

"I'm sure he will be, Hen," I mumbled to JJ, "I swear to god he asked me that 5 minutes ago..."

She chuckled and scolded him, "Henry go put your shirt on or you're staying here, I don't wanna tell you again... and go check on Michael!" He sprinted out the door to finish getting dressed. Once I was done getting my hair and face ready, I left JJ in the bathroom to complete her routine and went to retrieve my outfit from our closet. JJ and I decided to match tonight— she picked out a short burgundy dress with a lace top and I mirrored her with a maroon jumpsuit.

The boys wanted to match with each other instead of us, so we had them each wear a light blue button up shirt underneath a white knit sweater

The boys wanted to match with each other instead of us, so we had them each wear a light blue button up shirt underneath a white knit sweater. They had navy dress pants and brown shoes to tie it together— they both looked very distinguished. When I finished getting dressed, however, I suspected neither of them were as far along. I walked down to Henry's room and saw the door open.

"Henry?"

He called from Michael's room, "In here!" I took a few steps down the hall to go find them. I peeked my head through the open door and saw Henry, all dressed, trying to button up Michael's shirt.

"Haha, need a hand in here?"

Henry turned around, "Woah you look really pretty, momma!"

"Thanks, buddy... I can clean up nice when I want to, huh?" I squatted down and pick up Michael, standing him on his bed so he was at an easier level for me to work with. I finished helping him get dressed, making pleasant conversation with Henry along the way, and was surprised Michael actually agreed to wear everything we picked out for him— typically he'll want to switch to his sneakers by the time the ordeal is done. I gave him a high five to congratulate him and then told him to go wait in the living room.

He protested and reached his arms out, "Nooo up up, can yous carry me pwease?"

Henry rolled his eyes, "What a baby," and then left to go look for JJ. I gave in and picked Michael up, holding him in my left hand and trying to get the rest of our things together with my right.

When I was in the kitchen trying to pack up all our presents for everyone I heard JJ walk in, "Need a hand there, baby?" she came over and took Michael from me so I could finish stuffing gifts in bags.

I giggled, "Doing this with another tiny human in the house is gonna be even more fun, eh Jen?"

"Hehe, think about it: we'll officially be outnumbered."

Henry ran over and wrapped his arms around JJ's stomach, "How big is the baby now, mommy?" She diverted the question to me.

"Well uh let's see... mommy's almost four weeks in so baby Jareau is about the size of a poppy seed. Do you know what that is?"

"Are those the things that are always all over my hot dog bun?"

"Yep, that's them!"

"Wow! That's so tiny! When does it get big?"

JJ groaned, "Ugh you'll see it getting big when I start getting fat."

I smiled, "And you'll still look as beautiful as you do right now," I gave her a quick kiss and made sure everything was packed before we headed out the door. Rossi lives in Arlington, Virginia which is fortunately only about a 15 minute drive from our house. JJ always liked arriving early, so we left in plenty of time. Sure enough, we were the first ones there.

Rossi opened the door, "Aha Buon Natale, ladies! Hello boys!" He gave us each a big hug before welcoming us inside. Henry and Michael said hello to their Grandpa Dave before bolting to his basement where he kept all the toys and games.

"Can I get you a glass of wine, Y/N? And JJ, maybe a soda?"

"Diet coke would be great for me, thanks Dave."

"I'll take a glass of red... do you need a hand in the kitchen?"

He handed us the beverages of our choice before saying, "Usually Emily acts as my assistant but seeing as she is always late I'd happily accept some help, thank you" I rolled up my sleeves and listened carefully to the instructions given to me by Chef Dave. JJ took a seat at one of the stools by the counter, waiting for some more company to arrive. Derek and Garcia came next, followed by Hotch, Beth, and Jack.

After greeting everyone, Jack ran over to me "Excuse me, Y/N? Is Henry and Mikey here?"

"They're in the basement, little man," he took off like lightning, "They're very excited to see you!"

Hotch came over to me chuckling, "He's been talking about your boys all day, I was hoping and praying they'd be here tonight."

I gave him a hug, "Haha well they were equally excited to see Jack! Merry Christmas, sir."

"Same to you, Y/N," he put his hand on my shoulder and interrupted my cooking, "Why don't you let me take care of this, so you can go keep JJ company— I think she's mouthing off about your future child without you." I thanked him and let him step in. As I was passing the front door I caught a glimpse of Emily and Reid walking up the path. I opened the door for them before they had a chance to ring the bell.

Emily was very happy to see me and wrapped me in a warm hug before saying, "Ayy, Y/N! Merry Christmas!"

To my surprise, Reid reached out to hug me as well, "Merry Christmas, Y/N! Is JJ here?"

"In the living room, she's been waiting for you two to show up— the hell took so long?"

Emily groaned, "My car's in the shop so I asked Reid for a ride... he drives like a blind 80-year-old dog."

I burst out laughing but Reid was unamused, "There are 22 fatal car accidents per year in DC alone, did you want to be one of those statistics?"

"I'll take my chances, I like the adrenaline rush." The three of us made our way into the living room to mingle with the other guests. JJ was seated on the couch and I took my place next to her. I put my arm around her and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

She whispered to me, "I love you, Y/N"

I put my hand over her belly where our child was growing, "I love you too, Jayje, Merry Christmas."
