Spencer's favorite holiday is upon us. Surprisingly, he was the only one not in the bullpen yet. I saw the time was 8:54 and spun around in my chair to face Morgan's desk, whose back was to the doors of the BAU.

"Morgan, where's Reid?" Emily also perked her head up, looking around for our favorite genius.

Morgan turned to face me, "Not sure. He's probably putting together some stupid costume... kid goes nuts for Halloween." Morgan continued to mock Reid's holiday enthusiasm as I saw Spencer walking into the bullpen wearing a large Frankenstein mask. I didn't make Morgan aware of his presence though, so as not to ruin the surprise.

Nevertheless, he saw me hiding a smile, "Whatcha smilin at, princess?"

Reid jumped behind him, "Rah! I'm going to eat you!"

Morgan twitched and scolded him, "Reid!"

Spencer took his mask off and set a box down on Emily's desk, "Happy all hallows eve, folks. To paraphrase from celtic mythology, tomorrow night all order is suspended, and the barriers between the natural and the supernatural are temporarily remooooved!" He threw a fake decapitated head at Emily, who shrieked at the gross object but was still laughing at Morgan.

Derek defended himself, "See, that right there is why halloween creeps me out."

I scoffed, "You're scared of halloween?"

"I didn't say I was scared, I said I was creeped out. There's a difference there, youngster. You should look it up."

Reid was curious, "What creeps you out about it?"

"I don't know. People wearing masks. I don't like folks in disguises."

Reid smiled, "That's the best thing about halloween! You can be anyone you want to be."

"Nah, I'm pretty good just being me."

I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, why is it that neither of those points of view surprise me?"

Morgan smirked and sat on top of his desk, "You know what, though? On the flip side, it does provide a pretty good reason to cozy up with a scary flick and a little halloween honey."

Emily gagged, "Ugh. 'Halloween honey.' Now I'm creeped out."

Reid turned to me, "Do you and JJ have the boys tonight?"

I responded, "Ugh, yes. Don't even get me started— it took forever to figure out what we could all dress up as... Henry and Michael wanted us to do a family costume sort of thing."

Emily asked, "What did you decide on?"

I swallowed a sip of my coffee before saying, "Star Wars. Henry is Luke, Micheal is Darth Vader, JJ is Leia, I'm Han Solo, and Jackson is R2-D2."

Emily squealed, "Aww R2! No wayyyy! I need to see pictures!"

I laughed, "You'll get them, don't worry."

Several hours later
When we picked the boys up from school, they were already hopped up on sugar from all the Halloween candy handouts. That didn't help us in our efforts to make their excitement somewhat containable. Henry didn't have much homework to do, because his teachers were always sympathetic around holidays, so by 4:00 we were ready to get dressed. Georgetown started trick-or-treating around 6:00– hopefully we'd be ready in time.

Henry got dressed fairly quickly as did I, because our costumes were relatively easy to put on. I asked Henry to help me get Michael ready, leaving JJ in the bathroom to try to put her hair into Princess Leia's signature space buns. Mikey's costume came with a lot of buttons and switches, and it was in a few separate parts. It took a while, but Henry and I got him dressed and ready to go. I went into Jackson's room to change him and get him in his costume as well. It was just a simple onesie and knit hat, so it was just like getting him dressed any other day. I laid him on his back in his crib and got him to look up at me so I could snap some pictures. I picked the one that looked the best and sent it to the "BAU Baddies" group chat, not surprisingly named by Garcia.
