“Hi ma’am, may kailangan po ba kayo?”tanong sa akin ng kasambahay.
I was sitting on the couch and watching television.Nitong huling buwan, pinili ni Alden na magkaroon muna ng kasambahay para magkaroon ako nang kasama sa bahay lalo na dahil kailangan niyang magtrabaho para sa aming dalawa. Although we have some business ventures we could highly rely on, there are some commitments or projects he still couldn’t just decline. I’m on my last semester and it is highly expected that days from now, I will be on my labor.
“Just hand me some fresh fruits and I’ll be fine. Thank you.”I said and smiled.
Mabilis namang tumalima ang kasambahay sa sinabi ko. I’m not much into different kinds of foods right now, matagal nang natapos ang paglilihi ko at ang mga buwan na sobrang lakas kong kumain. I remembered the time when the whole nation discovered my pregnancy due to our guesting at Eat Bulaga.
“Hey, a-are you o-okay, Wife?” I closed the bathroom door and looked at him. I can see the worry and confusion in his eyes. I smiled weakly.
Honestly, I felt like I was to vomit everything I have eaten, it was so awful aside from the fact that I was becoming more dizzy every minute. Pakiramdam ko rin kanina pati lahat ng organs ko lalabas na rin.
“I think we should go home.”he suggested and I nodded in response.
Inalalayan niya ako at nagpaalam na muna kami sa lahat. Everyone was greeting us with their congratulations and all I could do was smile and nod, I felt like my energy has been drained.
“Galing mo, Brad!”rinig ko pang sigaw ni Kuya Jose, bago kami makaalis.
“Sabi ko sayo Kuya, meron na e! Hindi palang alam ni Maine.”ngumisi naman siya pagkatapos.
Kung nasa katinuan lang ako ngayon, hindi ako magdadalawang-isip na batukan siya.
We hurriedly went to the hospital after I managed to gain my strength. The doctor confirmed that I am pregnant. Although I already have a bit of an idea because of what happened in EB, I was still in awe that I am carrying our child. RJ on the other hand was surprisingly more relaxed compared to me. The doctor talked to him for a couple of reminders regarding my pregnancy before we head out of the clinic. I was starving so I requested for us to eat before going back home. I ordered our food and I would catch him stealing glances from me. I pouted and rolled my eyes at him and he just laughed it off.
“Why are you laughing?”I raised my eyebrow, hoping to intimidate him a bit. Umalis na ang waiter na kumuha ng order namin. Hindi ko alam kung bakit parang tuwang-tuwa siya gayong umorder lang naman ako ng pagkain. Mas tumawa pa siya dahil sa naging tanong ko.
“You’re too cute when pregnant, Nicomaine. So damn cute.” Sabi niya at tumawa ulit habang marahang umiiling.
“I have a question for you.”I sighed.
“I hope it’s not something naughty.”ngumisi siya para mapigilan ang pagtawa.
Hindi ko siya pinansin at nagpatuloy sa pagsasalita.
“Why is my OB-gyne different from Ate Nicolette’s? Wala lang akong lakas kanina, pero kanina pa ako nagtataka. I thought we agreed on this, in case I get pregnant?”hindi ko na napigilan ang magtanong, umiwas siya ng tingin sa akin.
“My OB-gyne was supposed to be a guy and you know that. It should be Doc Chris—“
“I don’t want it.”he said dismissing the thought.
“What? Akala ko napag-usapan na--”
“I said I don’t want him to be your doctor.”mariin niyang sabi. I saw irritation in his eyes.
