A few days later.
"Emma, oh my god Emma are you awake?" I heard a guy asking while leaning in and staring at me as I slowly opened my eyes. I squinted my eyes adjusting to the bright light.
"Emma, Emma can you hear me!?" Another guy waved his hand in front of me.
"Are you ok? Does you leg and hand hurt a lot?" Yet another stranger asked me.
"Uh y.. yea." I nervously answered as I scanned the room and all the people in there.
I tried to get up but ended up wincing in pain. My injury hurts so bad.
What happened? Where is this place? Why am I here? Why am I injured so badly? Most of all, who are these people?
Questions ran through my head. There were three guys, all quite good looking.
"Hey hey hey don't get up, you may hurt yourself." One of them said gently. "Here let me help."
So he helped me up carefully as I thanked him.
"So where's my dad?" I wondered. My dad should be here with me.
"Uhhhhh, your dad?" He asked looking really confused. "Emma.... you're dad, he passed away about a week ago."
"Wh... what!?" I exclaimed. "And... and who are you guys."
"Emma.... y.. you're kidding right." Another guy chuckled nervously.
"Um doctor, DOCTOR!" The guy called out.
After a short evaluation from the doctor he said that I've temporarily lost my memory but not to worry as will come back latest by a week. But my broken hand and leg would take some time to heal.
I went back home the next day. I learnt all their names but everything was so unfamiliar. I was in a mansion filled with people I don't know. It did not felt like home. Especially without my dad here, considering what they said was real.
"Hey let me help you to your room." Sean said then carried me up easily.
"Is... is my dad really dead?" I asked with my voice shaking. Tears welling up in my eyes.
He let out a sigh. He looked at me with pity in his blue eyes. "I'm sorry princess, but it happened. You know, sometimes, things happen. But don't worry we'll be here for you." He finished as he gently placed me on my bed. "Now rest up." He gave me a smile then left my room.
I broke down crying the moment he left, not able to hold it in any longer. Everything was so strange, my dad was gone. Just then, some of my memories came back. I remembered up to when my dad and Rose got married. Everything made more sense. So I guess these are all my brothers.
I tried really hard to remember everything that night but only tired myself out and falling into a deep sleep.
I woke up the next day, body still hurting. With great difficulty made my way downstairs almost falling over multiple times just to get a cup of water.
Blake was also in the kitchen as I entered.
"Oh hey, you feeling better?" Blake asked concerned.
I just slightly nodded given the fact I don't remember him or any of the brothers living under the same roof as me right now.
"Don't you remember anything?" Tentatively he asked.
I slightly shook my head.
"Need help with anything?"
"N...no." I turned him down.
As I proceeded to get myself a cup of water, I winced as I reached my hand out stretching my injury. Immediately Blake came over to help me. I guess all of them were really nice. They've all been really helpful. But as he leaned over to get the cup, some memory flashed through my head just like it does time to time. However, not so wonderful memories this time, it's when I was punched to the ground by Blake right here in this very kitchen. Horror overwhelmed me as I stared at him terrified.
"Here," he handed me the cup. His face turned confused when he sees my horrified face. "Wh... what?" He looked left and right to see if I was looking at something else then back at me.
"G.. get away from from me." I snapped. I felt like another panic attack was coming up. I've been starting to get it since the accident.
"Are you ok?" He looked terrified and concerned. "Uh guys, GUYS!" He shouted.
"What." Someone replied then Andrew came into the kitchen followed by Sean.
As I pushed him away he dropped the glass. Triggering more memories. Also not so pleasant ones. Soon they all came in the kitchen.
"Emma are you ok?" Alex asked.
"No, go away, get away from me all of you!" I yelled as they tried to come closer.
Yes they were all nice to me since I can remember, but you couldn't blame me for acting out. I was confused and scared. All these people here have hurt me in despicable ways. We're they just putting on an act, being nice to me?
"H.. hey, what's going on? Why are you acting like this?" Sean asked flustered.
"No! Just leave me alone!!" I fell to the ground while backing up into a corner. I felt an intense wave of fear overwhelming me. I felt like I can't breathe and my heart was pounding so loud I could hear it.
"O..ok ok. Just, uh." Blake blabbered, and all of them just changing looks not knowing what to do. Until Rose finally came and brought me to my room.
After a while I finally calmed down.
"Knock, knock." Rose came in bringing me a cup of hot chocolate. "Here it's your favourite.
I gave a weak smile, "thanks."
"So, what happened down there?" She carefully asked.
"I uh, I don't know. I suddenly had some horrible memories of... of them." I looked down. "I mean they've been really nice and I'd be really lucky to have them as my brothers, but... I'm just confused."
"Hey look, yes they weren't all that crazy about having a new sister at first and maybe did horrible things to you, but I'm sure you guys made up. I'm sorry I wasn't present much to stop them due to work.
"No, it's not your fault, I'm not likeable. And I know that." I said.
"Honey," she pulled me in for a hug. "Maybe just cool down a few days, avoid talking to them until your memory comes back ok."
I slightly nodded. She then left the room. I popped in my medication and lied back down after a stressful morning.
