1 week later*
The sun shone brightly on my face as I hardly got up. I stared into the floor and fell into deep thoughts. My broken hand and leg healed a little but still hurt like hell.So here's the thing. I got all my memories back two days ago. So why am I so depressed. It's actually kinda awkward where I left things off with them. I just didn't know how to approach them. We haven't talked for a week since they've been giving me 'space' that "I" specifically asked for. So..... yeap.
*knock knock*
"Hey honey, you wanna come down for breakfast?" Rose gently asked like she did every day of the week despite me turning her down every time, she still asked."Uh.... yea, I'll be down in a bit." I gathered my courage and decided to tell them today.
"Oh," she sounds shocked. "Ok sure. Uh do you need help getting down or..."
"I'm ok." I replied.
After a while I finally reached downstairs. I really should've asked for help. But honestly, now that my dad is gone, I felt like a burden to them. Like I'm not a part of this family. When my dad was still here, I knew he loves Rose and Rose loves him, and I'm his child so I had a place. But what's my place now? I didn't want to ask for help or bother them even more. Remembering how I've acted this past week, I should be thankful they didn't kick me out the house.
"Uh... hey guys." I slowly approached the dinner table.
They stared at me, then giving me awkward constraint smiled.
"I'm sorry." I finally said after keeping quiet for a hella long time. "I'm really... really sorry."
"No no it's ok honey." Rose said.
"Ya it's o..." Sean jumped in too but I cut him off.
"No, no it's not ok." Tears starting streaming down as I got more agitated. "You guys were treating me so nice while I acted like you're the bad guys. You guys took such good care of me since the accident and all I did was pushed you away. And my... my dad died, so you guys don't even need to take care of me anymore, but please don't send me to an orphanage." I buried my face into my hands still crying. I was just blurting everything out not even sure if it made sense.
Rose immediately came over, "Emma, Emma look at me, the moment I married your dad, you are my daughter too no matter what happens ok, remember that. I would never ever send you to an orphanage. That's crazy."
"You.... you got your memories back?" Andrew carefully asked.
I nodded wiping away the tears.
"Like, all of it?" He made sure.
"Yes ." I smiled while still crying.
They all came in for a hug and I was still crying, but I think it was out of happiness and relief. I did miss them. Jay, however didn't participate. He sat at the corner and ate his food. He kept avoiding eye contact with me or any kind of interaction.
We then finally sat down for dinner. It's kinda the happiest I've been since, my dad. I knew he'd want me to move on, and I had to. We all just talked and laugh but I could feel they were avoiding topics about my dad. I knew they were trying not talk about him to not make me break down in tears again.
It was a tough couple of weeks, but it was a little less tough with them around.
When we finished dinner, I heard the Sean and Blake argue about something in the kitchen. So I went to take a look.
"Whatever, I'm carrying her to her room." Sean said and walked out, towards me. "Oh hey Em, I know you're hurt so let me carry you to your room."
"He hasn't been working out that much, I should do it." Blake cut in.
