I made a discovery that could change the world. Make the heavens tear apart from joy. Sam could follow the rules.
Like, anything I said, he would do it. I was so happy. The boy was making progress. Granted, he was two years older to me, but still....
Yet, after his triumph over the naga security guard, more nagas came. Hooray! I was running out of ideas to save them.
I remembered something from our biology textbook. Enzymes couldn't function beyond the range of 40℃. When that worked for enzymes, why not for nagas?
I tapped into my brother's mind. "Bro, use your power to summon fire!" I hissed.
My quota of energy worn down, I stumbled, and then gently lowered myself into a sitting position.
Fire flared on Sid's palms. But then it flickered and died out. Somewhere, Nilan tried to make a shield with his stick, but he was blown back.
Heat came into my chest. I was angry.
But I couldn't do anything. Or could I?
Magic flared on my hands. I directed it onto the naga who hurt Nilan. He flew back, and collapsed into the pillars.
I didn't feel exhausted at all.
I rose into the air, some ancient power making me rise. My friends and cousins looked surprised, since they couldn't see me.
I directed all my magic towards the other nagas, and all of them met the same fate as the first one.
I heard a spine crack.
Karnya had her sword at the leader naga's throat, and she hissed, "Where is she?"
"The Ocean of Milk."
After I heard that, my vision went. I gasped, and saw that I was returned to a normal solid body. And I was in a dungeon, surrounded by the Ocean of Milk.
And I was fully awake.
