"WHAT THE FUDGE!" I yelled over the din of the monsters. I did something I had never done before. I summoned my sick new ride. With a loud whinny, the shadow horse appeared, and I instantly mounted it. "Gawk later, fight now!" I hollered to Nilan.

I created a force field around myself, while stabbing monsters with my knife. With the stream of monsters, my horse and I were pushed along. So were my friends and cousins. We were moved to a room which I had never seen before. In the middle loomed a huge pit.

It seemed to attract everything inside it, like a black hole, or a magnet.

I saw an asura give Sid a swirly in a lake nearby, and then throw him fully into the lake. Ouch.

He swam out, panting, and cut off the asura's head. Yuyutsu took a personal interest in Nilan, and was currently fighting him.

The army seemed to be never ending. Wave on wave of relentless soldiers came, and we defeated all of them.

Then, I heard the faintest whisper, my own self, or Yuyutsu saying, "It arrives. The death of Death."

"No. NO!" I yelled.

Suddenly time seemed to freeze. Everybody was suspended in time except for me, my friends, and Yuyutsu. He gave me a withering glare, and pushed Nilan into the pit, which concluded that he must have been the worst primary schooler.

My horse galloped to the edge of the pit, and instantly disappeared. I just managed to catch Nilan by the wrist.

"Let me go. Death is dying." he said quietly.

"No. No! I can't!" I choked through my tears.

"The prophecy. Remember?" "You'll die!" "I won't. I won't be gone forever. I'll come back."

"How can you guarantee that?" I asked, my lips trembling.

"You'll make sure of that."

"Just- just remember me."

"You're a hard person to forget, Aranya." he said, smiling.

Then, surprising myself, I let him go. He dissolved into a million particles.

He was dead. Gone.
