Chapter 8

A month passed and it's now October. I'm walking back home as I watch autumn leaves fall all around, creating a blanket with golden colors on the ground. The cold autumn wind hits my face making me close my eyes.

September passed by quickly. I've been hanging out with my friends and almost every Friday I've been with my sister, Sophie and Kyle. I'm actually getting a little closer to Kyle. I guess he is not as bad as I thought. He even sits next to me in our literature class. I think we are friends now.

"Hey pikachu"- Kyle says from behind me interrupting my thoughts. I don't respond. -"Pikatchu didn't you hear me?"- he says walking next te me with his hands in his pockets.

"Will you ever stop calling me pikachu"- i say rolling my eyes. He smiles. -"Nope"- he says, the wind has messed his curly hair but he still looks good. I just nod and smile a little.

"Wanna hear a joke"- he asks looking at me as we walk. -"Sure"- I say, he's been telling me a lot of jokes lately and I think some of them are funny.

"Okay, hear me out. How did the telephone propose to its girlfriend?"- he says. -"How?"- I ask, I really don't know where this is going. -"He gave her a ring"- he says and laughs, I don't. -"Uhh lame"- I say.

"Okay here's another one that matches with the season"- he says pointing around with his hand. -"I'm sure that you're going to like this one"- he adds.

"What did one autumn leaf say to another?"- he asks looking at me. -"Um, I don't know"- I say. -"I'm falling for you"- he says and I look at him trying to process what he just said. For a moment I thought he was talking about me but he was actually telling the joke. I'm so dumb. He would never say such a thing to me.

"Wait that's actually smart and really cute"- I say smiling, trying to hide my stupidy. -"I knew you would like it pikachu"- he says winking at me and we arrive at our houses. I say bye to him and walk towards my house.

It's friday evening and I'm bored. My sister is at Sophie's house so I decide to go there. I ring the doorbell and Sophie opens the door. -"Hi"- I say as I enter the house. Kyle is sitting on the couch watching a football game.

"Hey sis, we're actually going out right now"- my sister says. -"Oh okay then I'll go home"- I say but to be honest I don't want to go back home. -"No Heaven, you don't have to stay home alone. You can stay here with Kyle and we won't take long to come back"- Sophie says glaring at her brother.

Kyle shrugs, -"I don't mind"- he says. -"Okay I'll stay"- I say, -"have fun"- I add. -"You too"- Sophie says and they leave. I walk slowly and sit on the couch. Kyle is focused on the game and I'm bored again. Kyle seems to notice so he comes and sits next to me on the couch.

"Wanna play a game?"- he asks. -"Sure"- I say having nothing better to do. -"Let's play 21 questions"- he says with a smirk on his face, -"you go first"- he adds. -"Uh okay, what's your favorite color?"- I ask. -"What a lame ass question"- he says laughing. -"Just answer"- I say. -"Black"- he replies.

"My turn,"- he thinks a little, -"What did you think about me when we first met?"- he asks. -"That you're an asshole"- I say blankly. He mockingly puts his hand on his heart acting hurt. -"Damn"- he says and I laugh.

"My turn"- I say. -"Think about a better question then the last one. We're not kids"- he says and I nod. -"What's something you wanna change about yourself?"- I ask waiting for his response. -"Nothing. I'm perfect."- he jokes and I roll my eyes laughing. I'm sitting with my legs crossed on the couch facing him.
