Chapter 15

January is back which means the holidays are over and I have to go back to school. I don't mind going back, I just wish the holidays lasted a bit longer.

I had fun during Christmas but mostly during the New Year's Eve. I never thought spending the New Year with Kyle and his family would be so much fun.

I'm headed to the coffee shop where I'm supposed to meet my friends. I missed them, I hope they had a great time during the holidays like I did.

"Heaven"- Ava shouts when she sees me and they all turn to look at me. -"Hi guys, how are you all?"- I ask as the girls give me a tight hug.

"We're great! How about you? Did you have fun on your holidays?"- Aiden asks in a sweet tone. -"Yes I did"- I say smiling.

We spent a little time talking and catching up with each other while we drank our coffees. Our classes begin in a few minutes so we're all walking together to where our classes are located.

My classes went by miserably slow and I'm finally walking to my last class for the day. -"I'll see you when class is over"- Luca says waving at me and Ava as he walks on the other direction.

"Finally, last class of the day. It's only the first day and I'm already tired and bored out of my mind"- Ava whines as we take our seats. -"Yeah I wish we had a few more free days"- I say agreeing with her.

The room slowly fills with people and I wait patiently for class to begin. Kyle walks in and starts walking towards us. -"Hi"- he says as he sits next to me.

"Hey"- Ava and I respond at the same time. The professor enters the room and the class begins. Midway through the lesson Kyle pokes my leg with a pen.

I turn to look at him and he smiles, I raise an eyebrow trying to understand what he wants. He leans closer to my ear and my heart skips a beat. What is he even doing?

"Meet me at my car after class is over. Let's go somewhere, I need to tell you something"- he whispers making my skin tingle. I nod and turn my attention to the professor again.

Even though I'm trying, it's hard for me to pay attention now. Where are we going? Should I go with him? What does he want to tell me? Is it something serious or is it just something random?

Whatever, I'll have to find out later. Now I have to concentrate before I get scolded just like the last time. That would be very embarrassing and disappointing.

"Don't forget to turn on the essay, the deadline is next Monday"- the professor says and dismisses us. It's over finally, it felt like the lesson would never end.

"Bye guys, I'll see you tomorrow!"- Ava says giving me a hug as we walk out of the building. "Bye"- Luca and I say in unison.

"So how did your holidays go?"- I ask him trying to win some time before he asks about what I decided for us. -"Good but I couldn't wait for classes to start again so I could see you"- he says with a small smile.

He's so nice, I don't want to make him sad. How do I tell him that I want us to be just friends? What if he gets mad and never speaks to me again? No he wouldn't, he's too kind to do that.

"Is there something troubling you?"- he asks concerned. -"Yes. I've actually made my decision about what you asked me before the holidays"- I say.

"Really? Tell me"- he says with hope in his eyes. How do I say this, he is a really good friend and I don't want to hurt his feelings. But I have to tell him, if I lie to him then that will just hurt him more.
