Chapter 28

Darkness surrounds me and all I can hear is a steady rhythm that seems very familiar. Such a soothing and comforting sound. Yes, it's the sound I grew to love so much. It's better than any song I've ever heard.

His heartbeat.

I open my eyes slowly. I raise my head from his chest and look at him. He's snoring softly as he sleeps oh so peacefully. I adore him. Placing a light kiss on his chin, I close my eyes and let sleep take over me again.

Kyle's POV

I wake up with Heaven being completely on top of me. Her head on my chest and her body on top of mine, crawled on me like she's afraid of letting go.

I have to use the bathroom but I don't move. I don't want to wake her up. I stare at her beautiful face and can't help but be mesmerized by her. Her face is twisted softly and a little frown is plastered on her pretty lips.

Her breathing is steady and calm as her body radiates warmth through mine. I would give anything for us to sleep like this for the rest of our lives. I love this girl. I really do.

I take a few stands of  hair that has fallen on her face and tuck it behind her ear. She opens her eyes slowly and I quickly pull away. She raises her head from my chest and looks directly at me.

"Sorry! Didn't wanna wake you up. Go back to sleep"- I tell her but she shakes her head. -"How did you sleep?"- I ask as I massage her back with my hands.

"Better than I've ever slept these eighteen years of my life"- she says with a sleepy voice, making me smile. I wrap my arms tightly around her back.

"You shouldn't say stuff like this to me because I'll actually believe them"- I say. -"It's true though. I feel safe in your arms"- she says snuggling her face on my neck.

The way she says it so calmly makes me really happy. I fucking love this girl. -"You're the only person I want to hold in my arms"- I admit and I can feel her smile against the skin of my neck.

Heaven's POV

"We're back"- the door cracks open as Kyle and I cuddle on the couch. Our sisters walk in leaving their luggage on the floor and I immediately get up to greet them with a hug. Kyle just greets them from the couch with a small wave.

"How was your trip? Did you have fun? Did you bring any souvenirs? How was the weather? How was the hotel you stayed in? How were the beaches there? What did you eat? Was it good? What about your boyfriends? Did they like it there? Did YOU like it there?"- I ask them running out of breath.

"Slow down sis. We'll tell you everything"- Kate says as they sit on the couch. I take a seat next to Kyle and they start talking about their summer trip. From the way they're describing it I can tell that they had the time of their lives.

"I'm so glad you two had so much fun"- I say. -"What about you guys? Did you enjoy the past days"- Sophie asks. As I'm about to respond Kyle's phone vibrates in his pocket.

"Sorry, I have to take this"- he says walking out of the room. -"Well?"- Kate says and they both stare at me. -"It was great. Kyle has been nothing but sweet to me the whole time"- I say.

"Seems like you two had your fun"- Sophie says wiggling her eyebrows. They both stare at my neck smirking and it takes me a moment to realize what she ment. I immediately flush and look around the room trying to hide it.
