Chapter 17

Heaven's POV

Kyle's father left the exact same day he came to visit them. He waited for Sophie while Kyle was still at our house and after he talked to her he left.

After that day Kyle started to become distant again. He didn't pay much attention in class and he avoided me.

I tried to talk to him multiple times during the week but he always brushed me off. I know he's been thinking about what happened that day and I just wish I could help him.

It's Saturday evening and my sister and I are at Sophie's. To be honest I'm not in a mood for a movie night but I just hoped to see him. Although I haven't seen him yet.

"How is Kyle doing?"- my sister asks Sophie. -"You know him. He hates our father more than anything and seeing him after all these years didn't help the situation at all"- Sophie responds.

"I understand. Where is he now?"- Kate asks. "In his room. After classes he comes home and goes straight to his room. He only comes down to eat and sometimes he doesn't."- his sister says with concern in her eyes.

"Did you try talking to him?"- my sister asks. -"Yes but he won't talk to me. I'm really worried, he's never acted like this before"- she says in a sad voice. -"That's why I thought that Heaven should talk to him"- she adds, now looking at my direction.

"Why me? I tried to talk to him all week and he wouldn't say anything."- I say confused. -"Because you were with him when our father was here and he won't say anything to me because he's too stubborn. So please Heaven, try and talk to him again"- Sophie says with pleading eyes.

"But you know that him and I don't really get along so.."- I say still unsure. I really want to talk to him but I'm scared that he'll get angry and start saying hurtful things to me like he always does.

"Talk to him sis. He won't talk to Sophie and sure as hell he won't talk to me so you should at least try. And you two have been getting along more than you realize"- my sister says and Sophie nods.

What does she mean by that? Anyways that's not important right now. -"Okay I will"- I say and stand up. -"You can start the movie if you want. I'll be back in a bit"- I say and they nod.

I can feel my heart beat really fast as I walk up the stairs. I don't know why I'm so nervous, I just am. I'm in front of his door now and my heart is about to explode. I take a deep breath and knock on the door.

"Kyle, can I come in?"- I ask. No response. -"Kyle?"- I knock again. Still no response. I decide to walk in so I slowly open the door and walk in his room.

He's not here, the lights are off and only the lamp on his desk is on so the room is pretty dark. I can hear the water running in the bathroom so I sit on his bed and wait for him to get out of the shower.

Minutes pass and Kyle walks out of the bathroom drying his hair with a towel. He is wearing grey sweatpants and has no shirt on.

He stands in front of his dresser while looking for something. He doesn't seem to notice me so I speak first. -"Hey"- I say in a low voice. He turns to look at me and confusion fills his eyes.

"What are you doing here?"- he asks as he puts a black shirt on. -"I wanted to see yo- I mean, I wanted to see if you were okay. We haven't talked much this week"- I say.

"I'm fine"- he says with a shrug as he walks towards me. -"Your sister is worried you know. She said you've been in your room for the past days"- I say and he sits next to me.
