It's sunday, Kate doesn't work today so she's going out with her boyfriend later. I woke up this morning with puffy eyes from last night's crying. I didn't have the energy to do anything today, I just sat on the couch eating and watching movies. I walk to Kate's room and knock on the door. -"Come in"- she says, she's getting ready for her date. -"Hey sis, quick question, which dress do I wear"- she asks showing me a beautiful red dress and a black one. -"The red one"- I say pointing at the dress and she nods happily. -"Can I ask you a question"- I say, -"Does Sophie know about dad?"- I ask. -"Of course she knows, she's my best friend"- Kate says. -"What about Kyle, does he know?"- I ask again. -"Yes, he does"- Kate says looking at me with a questioning face. -"Oh."- is the only thing I say. So he knows and he still chose to make fun of me. -"Heaven are you okay, why are you asking me this? Did something happen?"- she asks worried. -"No, no. I was just wondering"- I say. -"Are you sure?"- my sister asks. -"Yes"- I lie and fake a smile, but of course she knows me too well to believe me. -"Heaven, you know you can talk to me about everything right?"- she says but I don't want to talk to her about dad because I don't want to make her sad. I'm okay with keeping it to myself. -"Yes, don't worry Kate. I'm totally fine. I love you."- I say, she hesitates to believe me for a moment, -"I love you too sis"- she says.

Kate left an hour ago so I decided to go for an afternoon walk. The weather is cloudy. As I walk quietly I think about my dad and all the memories we made together. I feel the hot tears running down my cheeks and I'm thankful that no one is outside so they can't see me crying. Suddenly it starts raining. A lot of rain but I don't bother running I just walk slowly back home. As I walk past a tree someone talks to me. -"Crying in the rain so no one can notice?"- the voice asks, I turn around and I'm met with Luca leaning against a tree. His eyes are puffy. -"Seems like you're doing the same"- I say and go closer to him. We're now standing under the tree waiting for the rain to stop. He smiles a little, -"Yes I am but I'm okay now. Are you okay?"- he asks looking at me. -"Yeah I'm okay"- I say, minutes pass in silence but it's not awkward, I actually feel really calm. The rain stops and Luca offers to walk me home.

-"So, why were you crying"- I ask him as we walk on the sidewalk. -"I'm not telling you"- he says smiling. -"Okay, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to"- I say. -"I'll tell you if you tell me"- he says looking at me. -"Fine,"- I say, -"I was crying because I miss someone"- I add. -"Is it your boyfriend?"- he asks. -"Nope. I don't have a boyfriend"- I say. -"Then who?"- he asks again. -"My dad"- i say, he doesn't say anything, he just looks at me. -"Well I was crying because I miss someone too"- he says. -"Who?"- I ask and I can tell he's sad by the way he closes his eyes. He takes a deep breath, -"my mom"- he says. Oh no. As we continue to walk Luca tells me about his mom, how she passed away when he was only seven years old, how beautiful she was and how much he misses her. I let him talk without interrupting him and when his done he asks me about dad. He listens to me carefully and I feel good to finally talk to someone. We talk a little about what we like and Luca tells me that he likes to skate. We're now in front of my house. -"Thank you for walking me home"- I say smiling. -"My pleasure"- he says, his beautiful teeth showing. -"It's getting late, I better get going. Good night Heaven"- he says. -"Good night Luca"- I reply and watch him as he disappears into the dark street.

It's 9 p.m and Kate is not back yet. I took a hot shower and made dinner. It started raining again, it's literally pounding outside. As I'm about to fall asleep on the couch someone knocks on the door. I get scared, who would it be? I'm sure it's not Kate because she never comes this early when she goes out with her boyfriend and she never knocks on the door, she has her own keys. I grab a knife from the kitchen and walk towards the door quietly. I'm paranoid, why do I get scared so easily? I open the door and I'm met with a soaking wet Kyle standing in front of me. -"Kyle?"- I question. -"Hey, can we talk?"- he asks. I honestly don't wanna talk to him, he's gonna make me cry again, I know it. -"I have nothing to say to you"- I say harshly. -"Who was that guy that walked you home?"- he asks, is he even serious. What's his deal? Wait how does he know? -"You came here just to ask me that? Please just leave me alone"- I try to close the door but he puts his hand on it stopping me for closing it on his face. -"Okay okay sorry just let me speak to you for a minute"- he says and I let him in. -"Are you holding a knife?"- he asks. -"I was making a salad"- I lie and he just smiles, it's a really small smile.
