CHAPTER 29 - MOOD

AMARA

It was morning when I woke up from the cabin bed. Naririnig ko mula sa bukas na bintana ang huni ng mga ibon at hampas ng alon. Patay na rin ang makina ng yate at nararamdaman kong narito na kami sa beach resort na sinasabi niya. Excited na bumangon ako sa kama at nag-ayos ng sarili. 

Kalmahan mo lang, Amara... this will be your first vacation ever!

"Hey, beautiful..." Bungad sakin ni Nikkolai nang makalabas ako ng kwarto. He softly smiled and kissed my cheek as he guides me outside for a morning breakfast on the upper deck of the yacht. 

"Good morning. Where are we?" tanong ko nang tuluyan kaming makaakyat habang nililibot ang paningin sa islang nasa harapan ko. 

"Isla Valderia. I've known this resort for quite a while and the water here is wonderful." 

I was in awe when I roamed my eyes to the view. A magnificent island stood with a vast white sand shore and crystalline seawater that reflects the color of the sky as well as the beauty it holds underneath. Sa tanang buhay ko, ilang mission na rin ang naranasan ko, ilang dalampasigan na ang natanaw ko pero ito yata ang pinakamaganda sa lahat. Hindi ko inakalang may ganitong isla sa Pilipinas... and from what I'm feeling, there's something soothing and magical about the place. 

Tama si Nikkolai... ang ganda nga nang lugar. That's what I thought when we reached the shore. Tinanggal ko ang sandals na suot ko at dinama ang init ng mapinong buhangin ng dalampasigan. 

Oh god, this feels so good. 

"What are you doing, wife?" natatawa si Nikkolai habang inaabot sa kamay ko ang sandals. Kinuha niya ito at nilipat sa kabilang kamay para hawakan ang palad ko. 

"Ang ganda rito..." namamanghang sabi ko habang hawak kamay kaming naglalakad bitbit ang aming mga gamit. 

May mga turista din ang lugar at mga kabahayan. There are small cottages for those people who are staying and enjoying the island. Hindi crowded ang isla at hindi rin marumi katulad ng ibang beach resort. I'm surprised that it was well taken care of by the owners. 

Wala kaming kahit na sinong alalay ni Nikkolai pagdating sa islang ito. I was used to seeing him with Helion or any of his bodyguards sa tuwing lumalabas but right now, it's really just the two of us here. Like any normal couple.

Wait... did I just say couple? 

My heart skips a beat. I didn't even think about it twice when my mind blurted it out. It's like a normal thing for it to speak. Ni hindi man lang nag-isip pa nang ibang mga bagay-bagay. Pero kung tutuusin, we're already married! And I guess that's proof that we are a couple, right? 

Pumasok kami ni sa isang two storey white villa na malayo sa karamihan. Mas lalo akong namangha sa pagka moderno ng bahay. From the exterior that plays with white and brown color, to the interior with taupe-color wooden furniture around.  The villa's floor-to-ceiling windows were filled with white see-through semi-sheer curtains that made the inside magical.

Basta ko na lang nilapag ang bag na dala ko sa isang counter at sabik na nilibot ang bahay. I even heard Nikkolai's illegal chuckle as he watched me with amusement in his eyes. The kitchen is simple with a small bar counter on the side. Different wines and glasses were placed neatly on the hanging cabinet. There's also a cute bathroom near the kitchen. Inside is the toilet, shower room, and a small bathtub.  

Lumabas naman ako sa backdoor at napanganga nang makitang may swimming pool rin doon. Sa paligid ay mga bamboo plants at coconut trees. It's like a wall that covered the backyard. May backyard patio woven swing pa with two small white pillows. Everything is just... simple and perfect!
