CHAPTER 39 - UNEXPECTED

AMARA

The days after my body finally recovered, I spent it travelling with Daniel and his right hand man who seems to be like in my age, Zekiah, a skilled agent under Varoni's command. Wala kaming konkretong plano sa kung ano ang gagawin sakaling matagpuan si Winston Morgan.

Our objective is to find the man first.

Farrei has given us two weeks to finish the case before Nikkolai finds out what we're doing. Kahit pa gustong-gusto ko na siyang makita at makasama, kailangan ko 'tong gawin. It's not only for his sake but for the future families between the war of Morgans and the Galanis.

Three days kaming nasa US. Daniel has a small underground organization that happens to have a connection with Winston. Nasabi ko rin ang ibang impormasyong nakalap namin noon tungkol kay Hillary at sa mga kaibigan nitong kasabwat rin ni Morgan.

Daniel's other men were sent to be under Farrei's watch. Kasabay namin ang lalaki na kumikilos sa Orion. He will be in charge of monitoring Nikkolai's movements. Pipilitin naming hindi kami magtatama ni Nikkolai dahil hanggat maaari, kailangan wala siyang malaman kundi mabubulilyaso ang ginagawa namin.

"Just like what Amara has said, Winston will organize an underground auction to be held in the Underground Hall in France. All of his acquaintances were innocent of the passcode. Mukhang ang Morgan lang na iyon ang nakakaalam kung para saan iyon."

We're dining at Zekiah's penthouse in Manhattan. Daniel is orienting us about it. Nakalatag sa harap namin ang iba't ibang larawan ng assets ng mga Morgans. Ang karamihan rito ay nagmula sa mga gawain nila sa Underground, and it's all illegally owned. We got no problem with that because the underground is basically for illegal stuffs.

Tonight, we are to watch Winston Morgan's transactions, and I can sense that Daniel is planning to meet the man and disguise himself as a buyer or bidder.

The reason why we're here is, there's this anonymous sender of the man's whereabouts.

May nagpadala ng kung anong package kay Daniel nitong mga nakaraang araw sa kanyang mansyon. We are suspecting that it was from Farrei, since he's also on the run collecting such information. Ang hindi namin inaasahan ay walang address o kung sino mang tao ang nakalagay roon. It is also obvious that the package came from overseas.

I tried to track the mailman but the Black Island's security were very strict in disclosing the information na kahit si Daniel ay hindi malaman kung kanino galing ang mga dokumentong nasa loob ng package na iyon.

Noong araw na binuksan namin iyon, tumambad sa amin ang napakaraming papeles. Some were even brown and old, legal documents about the Morgan's wealth and their family's background. Hindi lang iyon, ang sumunod na package ay naglalaman ng seven weird postcards, sa likod niyon ay pitong letra na hindi namin mapagtagpo-tagpo kung anong salita ang maaaring mabubuo.

Daniel, Zekiah, and I knew that it's an old trick of giving clues. There is someone out there sending us clues. As to how he or she knew about what we're doing, it is a mystery to us.

Hindi dapat kami nagpapaniwala sa mga ganitong bagay dahil baka nais lang kami guluhin ng taong iyon. But as we look closely upon the documents, they're authentic and true. Mahirap timbangin ang mga papeles dahil maaari itong pagmulan ng maraming pagdududa.

I was ready to oppose the use of the documents but Daniel sensed that whoever the person behind the mysterious package, he is definitely on our side.

I am just wondering what could these document benefits us. Oo nga at nalaman namin ang halos lahat ng impormasyon tungkol sa mga Morgan, bukod kay Winston, at maging sa kanilang yaman. Ano naman ang hatid nito sa amin?
