In the morning she was awakened when she was nudged, even before the warming wings rose from her.

"Good morning," she smiled at her sister, who squeaked in reply.

Then she fluttered her wings and rose.

It was time for her to get some roots.

Ahsoka nodded, gesturing for her to go.

"Good luck," she said with a grin.

Her sister rose into the air and flew off.

Ahsoka remained sitting on the branch.

For a while she did nothing.

But that got boring at some point. So she walked around on the branch for a while.

Then she began to climb the tree.

She climbed some of the higher branches, and scrambled around.

She wasn't in as bad of a condition as she was some time ago.

The bigger wounds had long since healed.

Her ribs didn't hurt as much as they used to, and her breathing was much easier than it had been a few days ago.

She could move again.

And slowly her instincts were coming through again.

Her Togruta instincts.

She was a hunter. She was born in the forest, a child of nature.

And that showed as she began to swing through the trees as if she had never done anything else.

She climbed to the top and back without losing her footing even once.

She almost flew through the tree, so natural were her movements. So easy and precise.

She took momentum and landed with a leap on the next branch, which in her almost non existing sight peeled out of its surroundings in an darker black, its life clearly and powerfully traced by the Force.

The whole tree had a signature that was so beautiful.

It was strong and ancient. Innocent and infinitely wise.

This tree had seen so much.

So incredibly much.

And it would see so much more.

It had stood here for hundreds of years, and would continue to do so for hundreds more, until its branches had grown so high that they touched the clouds.

She sat down cross-legged on the branch and smiled.

Yes, she liked this tree. It could definitely become her new home.

A beautiful home.

She continued walking around on the branch, and found a small pile of stalks.

The stalks were long and thin.

Just like the ones that made up the nest she had lived in before.

Her sister had probably put them there to build a nest out of them later.

She could help her sister there, couldn't she?

She dropped into a cross-legged position and began to weave the stalks together.

There weren't many, of course.

But she could do a little.

Soon her sister landed next to her, and dropped a bunch more stalks.

She gave an enthusiastic whistle when she realized Ahsoka had relieved her of work.

"Already started," Ahsoka explained, reaching for the new stalks.

"Then you'll just have to get stalks and not weave them too."

The animal girl squealed in delight.
