As it turned out the next morning, Ahsoka's idea to go out in the middle of the night in her nightgown had been a stupid one.
But she did not notice this anymore.
Luca, however, did. When he woke up, he was surprised that the hyperactive Togruta was still asleep.
But when he went over, he quickly realized why.
Ahsoka mumbled meaningless words one after the other.
Her eyes were open and glassy.
Carefully Luca put a hand on her forehead, only to withdraw it immediately. Ahsoka's skin was nauseatingly hot.
He stood up and ran into the house screaming "Mom!" Elise raised her head. "What's the matter Luca?" she asked worriedly.
"She has a fever. And she's not well. Can you come?" he asked frantically.
Elise nodded and followed him into the igloo where Ahsoka lay. Still in the same condition as minutes before.
The two of them carefully got the girl out the snow hut. Then Elise picked her up and brought her into the house.
Thomas, who seemed to have noticed the whole thing, was already waiting, took her from Elise, carried her into the living room and laid her on the sofa. Carefully he put his hand on her forehead.
"High fever," he diagnosed the obvious.
"Probably a simple winter flu." he then grumbled.
"But it's always so silly for those from further away," Luca commented, thinking he remembered people from other planets reacting more violently to it.
"We don't know yet if she comes from far away Luca. I'll try to reach Osane anyway."
Elise shook her head. "Honey, there'll be a blizzard brewing out there soon. You won't even make it to Osane before it snows everything."
Thomas grumbled something. "All the way, maybe not. But at least as far as the mountain cave. And from there I can go on after the blizzard. It's too high to get snowed in."
From Elise came only a slight sigh, but then she began throwing dried food and a few other things into a backpack.
Her husband put on his coat and then took the backpack. "Take good care of her," he grumbled before stomping off through the snow.
Luca sat down next to Ahsoka while his mother did her work.
And Ahsoka. She was still mumbling unintelligible words. Here and there she winced, or held her breath. Her eyes were closed in the meantime.
Luca remained sitting with her the whole time. Her hand in his he prayed quietly that his father got through to Osane and they helped Ahsoka.
For he was quite sure that she came from a world far far away.
He was interrupted when he heard Ahsoka screaming next to him.
She was screaming names. "BROTHER! SKYGUY!" she screamed.
"WHERE ARE YOU?" then again a little quieter "where are you...?" it sounded almost desperate. Tears streamed down her cheeks.
"Rex... SkyGuy... I know you are looking for me... find me... please..."
Luca stroked her lekku in an attempt to calm her down.
But nothing.
For Ahsoka did not dream
