When the first snow fell, Ahsoka and Luca were on their way to town.
Ahsoka a basket of vegetables under the arm.
They always sold a little of the harvest to certain people in the city to instead get such things as soap, sickles, pots or the like.
The first snowflake decided to land right on Ahsoka's nose. She immediately wiped away the supposed raindrop.
"That's not rain" Lucas said, grinning broadly, when she asked if they would make it home dry.
"That's snow" he pointed to more white flakes slowly sailing from the sky, then remembered Ahsoka didn't see it.
"Snow?" the latter asked, trying to catch some of it.
It didn't work at first, but the longer they walked, the more snow there was, and soon they themselves were covered under a thick layer.
Good thing the vegetables were covered by a cloth and thus safe.
And good that the two had thought of their coats.
Ahsoka had quickly pulled over the woolen hood to protect her delicate lekku and Montral from the cold snow.
Luca couldn't help but smile when he looked at her now.
It looked so cute how she was walking there, with the thick hood and wrapped in snow.
Soon, however, Luca could hardly see his hand in front of his eyes in the driving snow.
It was very helpful that Ahsoka didn't need her eyes.
She unerringly led the two in the direction of the city, that by its many signatures unmistakably stood out from the gentle nature.
They soon arrived, but the ground was already covered in several inches of snow.
Everyone one in the city was still busy, despite the snow, because many small droids sped around and took it away, so that one could walk properly.
No one paid any attention to the two of them, though they stood out extremely in their woolen clothing.
"Where to?" asked Ahsoka, losing her orientation in the crowd. It was damn hard to filter so many different impressions.
Luca took her by the hand.
"This way," he said, pulling the overwhelmed Togruta along with him.
They arrived relatively quickly at the small store that bought the vegetables from them.
With the money, they walked around town and worked their way down the shopping list.
It wasn't much.
The family didn't need much to live their simple life and most of it they produced themselves.
"Got it all" Luca said as they finally packed the last of it into the basket and added the list soaked by the snow.
"Off home" he added smiling broadly and the two turned in the direction of home.
A good meter of snow awaited them.
"Do you think we can still make it?" asked Luca anxiously.
"Sure. You bet we'll make it. Come on." Ahsoka climbed onto the snow and took off running. To Luca's great amazement, Ahsoka ran on the freshly fallen snow. She barely sank in.
He knew, of course, that she had incredibly light steps, but this was ...
Shaking his head, he tried to follow her.
