I quickly closed the boot of the car as the last box was finally in the boot. I turned to Nathan and smiled, trying to hide how sad I felt about leaving.

"You ready?" he asked me gently.

I nodded and climbed into the passenger seat as he quickly started the car. I sat in silence as we drove away from the flat for the last time.

I sighed and pressed my head against the glass as I watched the landscape rushing past. I couldn't quite believe that I was leaving. I had grown up in Nottingham, it was my home, and now I was moving to London. We were starting a new life. I couldn't deny that I was scared. Had I made the right decision, what would I do if I hated it.

I blinked away the tears as we entered the city of London, the moment of truth would soon be upon me.

"Do you regret leaving?" Nathan asked randomly.

"I don't know yet." I admitted.

"What are you going to do about your course?" he said.

"I'll take a gap year, it'll do me good to have a break." I muttered.

"Which one is it?" I asked.

"The one on the end." he said as he jerked his head towards it.

I sighed and slowly walked towards the house. My feet felt heavy as I got closer and closer. I walked up the garden path, I could hear Nathan following closely behind.

I jumped as the front door opened and a group of people wandered out looking rather excited. I stood on the edge of the group watching as they spoke to Nathan. I guess they are my new housemates. I watched as one of them clapped Nathan on the back and then made their way inside. I followed at a distance.

As soon as I entered the house I put my bags on the floor.

"I'm gonna go and get the rest of the stuff." I called to Nathan, but he didn't seem to hear me. Too many people were talking at once.

I quickly turned around and walked back to the car. I leaned into the boot, trying to reach the boxes at the back.

"Hey, do you need a hand?" a voice behind me asked.

I jumped slightly and winced as I hit my head on the car. I stood for a moment my vision becoming blurry and then darkness....
