Chapter Thirty Eight

I sighed as I walked out of the office. I'd finally told my boss that I was pregnant. Somehow telling people made it suddenly feel real. I was terrified, I didn't feel ready for this, but I knew that Jay felt a bond towards the babies. I didn't want to do anything to hurt him.

Eventually I reached my car and decided to call Jay.

Jay's POV

I quickly picked up my phone as it started ringing.

"Hello." I said.

"Hey Jaybird." I heard Anna's voice.

"Hey yourself, what you up to?" I grinned.

"Just on my way home." she replied.

"Oh my god, are you driving?!" I exclaimed.

"Yes, but it's fine you're on the bluetooth." I could hear the smile in her voice.

"Okay well be careful then." I told her.

"Yes sir." she said sarcastically.

"Don't start missus, you know it's because I love you." I told her.

"Good." she giggled.

"What are you up to?" she added.

"Been recording for the album and now I'm just chilling at home waiting for you." I chuckled.

"Hmm maybe I'll have to hurry up then." she said.

I laughed.

"How did work take the news?" I asked.

"Fine, they are going to be careful what duties they give me and are hoping they can complete my training before the maternity leave starts." she told me.

"That's great news." I smiled.

"Yeah." she sighed.

"What's wrong?" I asked worridly.

"I'm just tired." she said quietly.

"I'll run you a bath." I told her.

"No it's okay." she replied.

"You can have a hot bath and a massage." I smiled to myself.

I frowned as she didn't respond.

"You still there?" I asked.

"Yep I'm just watching the traffic, it's really busy." she announced.

"I'm going to take you out for dinner tonight." I told her.

"What for?" she asked.

"I want to treat you." I told her.

"That's sweet." she said.

I gasped as I heard a loud crashing noise, followed by a series of bangs.

"ANNA!" I screamed.

My heart dropped as the phone line went dead.
