Hola guppies!
This chapter is about Hunters or AWTOK (both commonly used names in reference to them). AWTOK stands for Always Watching The Other KInd. These guys hunt supernatural beings such as merfolk, werewolves, fae, vampires, etc. They hate our existence or want to expose us to the world, or want to experiment on us for notorious purposes.
Many of these guys can be disguised as a friendly person, so watch out for what they say and cut off contact if they seem...fishy.
My personal recommendation is wait for a month or so before giving any personal details such as your phone umber, address, email etc. If you have a nickname, give them that and if you trust the person isn't a Hunter, you can tell them you real name.
I've dealt with one (possible) Hunter in my life and it took a while to be rid of them. We were both were really young too (around 11). This was before I even learned about shifting, mind you, and was still using spells. They kept on asking why I ate fish, called me a fish freak, then in the same breath bought me lunch and encouraged me to tell secrets. I still have nightmares about them hunting me emotionally and almost physically...
But don't be deterred from telling those you completely trust, I'm just saying, word things with caution, and treat new people with respect (unless they don't treat you with respect. It's a two way street), but still be a bit wary.
I do't know what much else to say, so I hope that made sense? Let me know if you need clarification, I'll be happy to help you!
Alright guppies,
Stay safe and keep swimming!
Magnus~
