Before you P-Shift you gotta make sure you have a clear idea of what your mer-form will look like and all the functions and stuff. Will you have gills or one large lung? Webbed hands or not? Solo or pod? Please, please, PLEASE answer these questions and also draw an image of what your mer-form will look like. Include all the features your mer-form will have because, trust me, you need it!
First and foremost choose your species of mer. Here's a short list of the ones I know of. Please research them!! If you're going to live off the coast of somewhere warm like Miami or something, DON'T BECOME AN ARCTIC MER!!!
- Arctic mers
- Deep-Sea mers
- Open-Ocean mers
- Fresh-Water mers
- Sirens
- Tropical mers
- Cecaelia
Research what mer you want o be and if they're better suited to live in pods or alone, and what their ideal climate is. THIS IS IMPORTANT KNOWLEDGE FOR YOU, MY GUPPIES!
Now for the questions:
1) What will your mer eat?
2) How will you diet affect your mer's body
3) Salt-water or fresh-water?
4) What is the best tail structure for your mer's survival?
5) Tail colour best suited for your chosen environment?
6) What other characteristics will you have ( things that affect your hands, face, ears, etc.)?
7) will you have gills or lungs?
8) What changes to your physical appearance will you make e.g. hair, eyes, etc.
9) How will your mer act? What behavioral changes will occur when you become a mer?
10) How will you drink water? Osmosis (like an amphibian where you absorb the water through your skin) or normally?
11) Where will you live for most of your life (affects your mer greatly)?
12) What skin colour and type is best suited for your environment?
13) Now this one is rather awkward (sorry) but how will you relieve yourself? (Excrement mainly, but it can be the other relief as well)
14) Will you live in a pod or alone?
15) Will your mer migrate?
Once you have answered these questions go and draw a picture of your mer form with as much detail as you can about all the features you want to have! (It doesn't have to be perfect, just try your best!)
