I understand most of you might be thinking "why does a guy have so much interest in becoming a mer?"
The truth? I've always wanted to. Since I was a kid watching The Little Mermaid. It...resonated within my soul...I don't know how else to explain it...I just connected with the merfolk and have never let it go.
But on with the story.....
As I mentioned, I've wanted to become a merman for years. I tried many methods such spells and potions of varying degrees, but none worked. As I grew older and moved on to high school, I discovered the many different religions other than Christianity (which was all I was raised to know about *groan*). I discovered Hellenism (Greek pantheon of gods) and in secret, began to worship them and follow their ways.
Eventually, I became a witch. It tied in greatly with my worshiping practices. "What does this have to do with shifting?" you ask? I'm getting there, just hold on.
Fast forward to late 2020 when I came across shifting. It was this whole new concept and yet I was 100% on board. I truly believed (after much research) that this was the way to go about becoming a merman, that this was the way for me to be...well...free. It helped me feel more connected to my ocean/water-based deities too (Poseidon, Triton, Amphitrite, etc.). I felt that calling on them to help me throughout this journey and give me their blessings and guidance would help me...and it did!
Thus I began my journey of shifting...
