"What's ready?" Kaenisa asked as soon as the call ended.

"Something that should have been ready ages ago." Zaic muttered, brows furrowed as he tapped away at the floating keys.

She watched, fascinated as his fingers glided over the hovering keypad, about as thick as a sheet of paper. The way they lit up was strangely satisfying.

"Well, you heard him, let's go." Zaira beckoned before switching off the lights.

"And where exactly is that?" Sarina asked, walking carefully.

"Patience Blue Eyes. Patience. You'll find out soon enough." Zaira smirked, casting a glance over her shoulder.

In the dull glow of the neon lights, she could see The Princess' seductive glance, and if it had been her instead of the Platinum Blonde, Kaenisa would have looked away as well.

She turned around curiously, wanting to see what would happen to the chuck of wall that had slid open but impressively, there was not even a trace of it.

The gap had closed up within milliseconds of Rolan walking out of The Base, making him jump.

"This place is well hidden," He remarked, clutching his chest.

"Yeah. Oh and remind me to put in your biometrics the next time we're here." Zaic instructed.

They took another cab, smaller than the one that had driven them to Supernova's.

A ten-minute ride later, they walked on the paved pathway that led to the Palace gates in silence, lost in their thoughts.

She could not help but wonder what surprise was waiting for them now. After all, life had been nothing but a series of blows and thunderbolts ever since she had come here.

Kaenisa had been so absorbed within her thoughts that she didn't even notice when they had stopped, running right into a wall....of muscles?

Rubbing her forehead, Kaenisa looked up to find a pair of pale amethyst eyes staring down at her, flecked with brilliant specks of indicolite and violet.

It reminded her of their first meeting, wondering how she had never noticed the indigo in them before.

Then, suppressing the incipient urge to slap herself, Kaenisa shook herself free from the bewitching spell his eyes had put her under, feeling the heat rise to her cheeks.

"Are you okay?" He asked, raising his eyebrows ever so slightly as he peered down at her.

"Yeah. Fine." She replied, looking away, utterly mortified.

Silence filled what little space was left between them again. It was ironic, really, how they ended up so close to each other when in reality they were just drifting apart.

"Why do you have to be so beautiful?" Zaic mumbled, his lilac gaze fixed onto her face, slightly dazed.

"What?" She started, taken aback by his sudden compliment.

But before either of them could say or do anything, a high-pitched voices cut them off.

"Kaenisa!" Sarina exclaimed, rushing to her side, "Zaic! Hi. I'm just gonna...you know....take my silly little friend here, cause.....we gotta talk. Haha, bye." She blurted out, making eyes at Kaenisa before dragging her away.

As soon as there was enough distance between them and the Prince, Sarina turned to her, platinum hair whipping Kaenisa across the face.

"What we're you thinking, walking into him like that!?" She whispered loudly, linking her arm through Kaenisa's.
