BILLIE O'CONNELL

i took a deep breath as i looked down at the thrashing water. i dropped my hands from the supports of the bridge.

this is everything i want... right?

i shook my thoughts from my head before taking a step, plummeting into the water.

suddenly, i was no longer in the water. i also was no longer in my body; i was more like a spirit or something now.

i looked around, seeing my friends and family. they weren't grieving or anything though; they were just going about their day. they were joyous.

they don't even care.

i gasped as i shot awake. my breathing was erratic and i had sweat dripping down my face. i reached a hand up to wipe at my face, while my other hand clutched tightly at my shirt.

"fuck." i whispered out after i had caught my breath.

i stood up from my bed, walking to my bathroom. i turned the water on, then bent over the sink to splash my face with water. i turned it off, looking into the mirror. i quickly stopped though, unhappy with what i saw.

i dried my hands on a towel, then walked back to my room. i pulled on a pair of shorts, and then a pair of shoes. i grabbed my phone and my room key before walking out of my dorm. i checked the time on my phone, seeing that it was two in the morning.

no way am i about to go back to sleep after that.

i shoved my hands in my pockets as i walked through the dorm hallways. i looked down at my shoes as i walked.

originally, i was going to just go to adrian's dorm, but then stopped myself as i remembered that he had some soccer practice shit tonight, so i knew he was exhausted. i didn't wanna wake him up after that.

i then remembered that ag had said that her dorm was only four down from his.

"if you need anything, hit me up" is what she had told me.

i walked down four dorms from adrian's dorm. i raised my fist to knock, though i didn't knock yet.

this is stupid. she's probably dead asleep by now.

i continued to debate with myself for a moment on if i should knock or not. just as i was about to turn around and leave, the door opened, which made my eyes widened.
