So I thank my lucky stars
For every crack, scratch, and scar on this guitar

Tony did not seem surprised when I was the only one who reentered his household. We know he would never admit his soft spot for me

Morgan, who was busy coloring her book, perked her head up. "(Y/n)!"

"If it isn't my favorite goddaughter!" She stood up from the table to give me a bear hug. Her head only reached my waist, so I carried her, one arm on her legs and another one on her back.

Tony left the tomatoes he was slicing. "You are not her godmother," he sassed.

"I am if Happy dies!" I retorted back, then sighing. "Sorry, that sounded mean. I– y'know what I mean."

He cleaned his hands with a white towel hanging over the stove. "So, you're staying for dinner?"

As if on cue, my stomach grumbled. "Absolutely. I'm starving."

"No Avengers chit-chat, Firefly," he scolded.

"You don't need to remind me twice. I got it," I barely chuckled.

Pepper came out of her bedroom. She wore casual clothes, something the cabin in the woods lifestyle unlocked in her. "(Y/n), nice to see you."

"Hey, Pepper." We hugged each other after I dropped Morgan at her previous spot.

After we had completely set the table, she cut the loaf of bread. "So, anything interesting happened recently at your job?"

I stopped shoving the food down my throat. "Nope, same old, same old. It's always the jerks that make simple stuff complicated. Like last time, a guy asked for me in Atlanta."

Recently, I have been eating more, stress eating to be exact. My kind of toned body had gained a couple of pounds and a food baby waited to be created later. Though it's nothing a month of exercise or two could not handle.

"Okay...? I don't hear the problem," he mumbled while pouring a glass of water.

I cringed at the memory of the stupidity. "His robot needed another type of battery... the first instruction in the book was to buy them."

Tony's reaction was to roll his eyes and Pepper's and Morgan's was a little giggle. "That doesn't sound fun," fun-sized Stark said.

"Sweetie, remember to not speak when there's food in your mouth."

"Sorry." The girl quickly swallowed and grinned.

"No, it's not fun, but I get to travel on my motorcycle and it keeps my mind off my problems— What is this, by the way? It's delicious." I went from looking at her to the chef.

She smiled. "Bacon-wrapped pesto pork tenderloin."

"Love it." I understood the words separately but had no clue about the complex combination. Still, the warm food tasted wonderful. Way better than the usual spaghetti, ramen, or chicken Cassie and I bought.

Tony offered to clean everybody's dishes, an offer never refused by moi. Pepper lend me one of her books to keep me entertained. She had gone to get her daughter ready for bed, the cause of the house being utterly quiet.
