Looking at the pages of my life
Faded memories of me and you
Mistakes you know I've made a few

"You're sure you don't want my jacket?" Peter offered.

I buried my head on his chest. "I'm fine, love. Really. If you give me your jacket you're gonna be the one freezing."

"Love? That's a new one." A smirk crept on his face. "We can cuddle to keep warmth."

Rooftops had become our thing; we would end up talking on them one way or another. There was something about finding the balance of saving New York and loving each other that made it ten times better... especially when the recent development of nightmares crashed me wide awake.

The freezing breeze of February blasted on our faces. As the thin layer of snow blanketed every skyscraper around the city, we were shivering in each other's company.

I rolled my eyes but had a lopsided smile. "We can do that with or without you freezing to death."

I was making hot cocoa on a stove that was conveniently placed on the roof. Rich people stuff, don't ask me why. Still, we had the space to ourselves, meaning we could see as New York shook off their Valentine's day fever. Well, we were a week from March, but decorations were still hung up on the compound.

"Maybe freezing to death will not be my best look," he began agreeing, so he snaked his left arm around my lower back, pulling me closer to him.

Using telekinesis, I levitated our hot cocoa cups towards our shaky hands. "Cheers!" we said at the same time.

When he took a sip, Peter almost dropped the mug. "Ow! My tongue!" He scraped it off with his hand... as if that would ease the pain.

His face was adorable, so I couldn't contain my laughter. He glared at me in midst of his agony. "Sorry!" I apologized.

He started gently blowing on the cup. "My girlfriend's cute, but cooking isn't her strong suit."

"Oh, come on! You try doing hot chocolate with telekinesis. Cut me some slack," I jokingly defended myself.

"Fair point. And I did get you distracted." His thumb softly brushed over my lips, his eyes doing a similar movement. Yeah, making out while performing a telekinetic task is probably not a smart idea.

I could feel my heart speeding up. "Oh, I didn't mind that part. Would you mind distracting me again?"

"Nope." We forgot about the drinks and decided to continue. His lips perfectly fit into mine, but he separated almost immediately. When I tried to complain, he hissed.

"Right! The burned tongue!" I recalled, blaming myself for making his burning worse."Sorry. Again."

"It's fine, it's fine," he managed to giggle. His giggle was so contagious, that I crackled with him. But his happiness switched to a frown in a matter of milliseconds. "You'll never leave me, right, (Y/n)?"

I ran my hand through his hair, confused at the random question. "Why would you say that? Of course not! You're the best boyfriend ever. And my best friend too."

"Awesome. I just wanted to check if you were still with us." Then he winked.

"Us?" I responded while furrowing my brows.

"You're still with us, (Y/n)? We're about to enter," Sam's voice suddenly rang in my ears. Damn, I had zoned out.

My mind snapped back to reality... back in 2023, where he and I were an Atlantic Ocean away. That was only a memory now.
