Here we stand, caught between the cradle and the grave
In a world that gives you nothing but your name
With every step you take, you must be brave

"Can I get to do it?" I asked Fury. He groaned before giving the tranquilizer to me. I targeted Ned's neck, hitting it on the desired spot. Yes, I did ask a billion times if he was going to be safe.

So, yeah... I unwilling accompanied Fury to fetch the last member of the team: the one and only Spiderman. Given my history with him, he insisted on my company. Just for support, though; I'd stay on the boat.

Nonetheless, I got the chance of seeing Ned from afar; the best friend I wasn't mad towards. I told him a billion times Ned was trustworthy, but he SHIELD was not risking it.

"You're a very difficult person to contact, Spiderman," he emerged from the shadows. Due to the nightlight, and the fact that I was behind a wall and five feet of them, I couldn't observe Peter's shocked face. I did hear Ned's snores though.

I giggled to myself as I waited on the boat. Minutes later, Parker came out of the building, suit and everything over him. His jaw widened slightly when he noticed me holding the steering wheel. "Welcome aboard, Spidey," I muttered.

He crossed his arms like a toddler. "What are you doing here? I thought you were ignoring me."

I rolled my eyes. I insisted on Fury that we'd get this conversation between us sooner or later. But noooo, he wanted me to come. I rolled my eyes. "Duty called. Both of us."

Parker left his anger to replace it with surprise; his eyebrow shot towards the sky. "You flew today from New York to fight water monsters?"

"Pump the brakes. Today? You didn't see me fighting?" He shook his head slightly to the sides. "Oh, of course you didn't see me fighting..." I hugged. "I arrived in Europe before you did, actually."

"Leave your hormonal chit-chat for later. Go. Inside. The boat," the director of SHIELD commanded. After a minute of silently driving through the water, Fury looked at the distance. "Stark left these for you."

"Really?" He revealed the small wooden box inside his coat. When Peter opened it, sunglasses in the shape of a classic Tony Stark pair shone. The frame was metallic, which complemented perfectly the sapphire lenses.

Fury laughed to himself after saying: "'Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.' Stark said you wouldn't get that because it's not a Star Wars reference."

We arrived at the cave not too long after. I was still surprised the Internet and electricity worked down here, but leave it to an American government agency to figure that out.

"You can lose the mask. Everyone here has seen you without it. You'd only be feigning anonymity and breathing through spandex for no good reason," the director instructed.

I whispered in Parker's ear: "I'm revoking my angriness at you. For now." I didn't even give him time to process because I dashed to another corner of the headquarters.

Fury's leather boots crunched against the wet stone under them. "Over here, we have Maria Hill. That is Dmitri. You already know Lang. And this is Mr. Beck."

"Mysterio?" Parker exclaimed out of nowhere.

"What?" Quentin turned around rapidly.

He seemed to rethink the random nickname he had given the universe-foreigner. "Doesn't matter. It's just what my friends had been calling you."
