I've seen a million faces and I've lived a couple lives...
The smiles and all the scars
First the rising, then the fallingAfter an awkward walk around the plaza, and a Baa Baa Black Sheep sang by Zemo later, the Baron found out the funeral was this afternoon. That left us to head across the country, hoping to get to Karli before it was too late.
Speaking of her, we talked about her reasoning on Zemo's apartment. Sam seemed to catch a different side that the others wanted to observe. I was betting on that idea because it scared me how much she reminded me of me. She needs guidance... not explosives to reburn the world.
"Karli Morgenthau is too dangerous for you guys to be pulling this shit." The angry voice of one Faketain America cursed my ears. Just what we needed.
"Missed me already, Walker? You could've called. Or kidnapped me again." I blew a kiss at him, containing myself of causing a fight in the middle of the street.
"Ah! How'd you find us now?" Bucky's arms moved up and down in defeat.
"Ah, man, you really think three Avengers can walk around Latvia without drawing attention?" Lemar said while going down the stairs.
It was funny watching them being angry and trotting. At least that would humor me before the storm that was about to unfold. "No more keeping us in the dark."
"Karma tastes delicious this morning," I muttered to myself.
"You could start by telling us why you broke him out of prison."
Bucky squinted. "He did that himself, technically..."
I could feel Walker's blood boiling through his body. "Oh, this better be an unbelievable explana—"
Sam pushed him off us. "Take it easy before it gets weird."
"I know where Karli is," Zemo chimed in.
His face finally shone a glint of hope. "Well, where?"
"All we know is it's a memorial. So we're gonna intercept her there."
"That means civilians. High risk of casualties." Lemar's deduction convinced John he was welcomed in our mission. He basically wanted to bring a full task force to the simple event.
"No, I wanna talk to her alone," Sam argued.
"I'm not losing her again." John sprinted to catch up with him. Sam explained his reasoning, which made the blonde guy even more pissed. "I think we're way past reasoning with her, unless you forgot the fact that she blew up a building with people still in it."
"Sam, you walk in there cold, she could kill you," Lemar added.
"And if I go in hot and the op goes wrong, more people will die."
The star-spangled man turned to the Winter Soldier. "You'll let him do this? Are you gonna let your partner walk into a room with a super soldier alone?"
"He's dealt with worse. And he's not my partner," Bucky gladly spat.
I'm not liking Walker's closed mind so far. He keeps getting on my nerves, especially now that he wants to discredit Sam's work in the military. However, the arguing got into Hoskins' head; he somehow convinced his friend to let us give it a go.
Up in the street, the girl who first conversed with Zemo back at the plaza stood. He gave her a bill, which explains how easy it was to convince her. I can't imagine what kind of things these citizens go through.
She opened the door to a big ass building and then disappeared. Suddenly, John pinned Zemo to the wall. "You got ten minutes. Then we're doing things my way." He handcuffed him to a tube, but he also eyed me as he probably considered doing the same to me.
