When you were alerted by your mom that you would be spending your Saturday watching over your baby cousin, you couldn't any happier. No sarcasm intended. Your aunt was busy and asked your mom to take over for her today, which she then pushed the job onto you. You haven't seen your lil' ol toddler friend in a while and you missed him quite a lot, if you remembered right he should be starting first grade soon. He really was growing up and going to school, it felt like you raised him yourself even though you barely saw him.

You weren't much of a child person and often steered clear of little children. Especially babies, oh god. You never really got the fuss of making a child take a liking into you, they'd just forget about your existence once they left. Not to mention, they were so fragile that you were too scared to even come close to them. One wrong move and you could crack their skull open and end their short life, dark but so very very true. And let's not forget about how bratty some of those meddling kids could be, you were not going to get knee deep into that type of shit.

But your sweet cousin? Small, adorable, little Finn?

He was the one exception you would make, Finn was the one child that would make your heart burst. In a good way, of course.

You were told by your mother that your aunt would be dropping him off in the next fifteen minutes, so you got yourself busy with placing old foam mats onto the living room floor. Your family had kept them and they were getting quite disfigured, but they still connected together and worked just as fine. You went to your room and pulled out a few old toys you have saved for your cousin. You were about to head out of your room when you heard your phone buzz a few times. You picked up your phone and read over the new notifications.

Tsukki!

Tsukki!: I need to go get groceries

Tsukki!: Come with me so I don't get bored.

i would, but I'm babysitting my baby cousin today

can i bring him with us then?

Tsukki!: I'm not gonna take care of it.

dw i got it, you dont have to worry bout a thing :)

come over to my house first

Tsukki!: Alr, see you in fifteen.

you still text like an old man LOL

Tsukki!: At least I don't sound illiterate.

ok damn

just come soon

You clicked your phone off and threw it onto your bed, you might as well changed into something more suitable while you wait. You were grateful that you charged your phone the night before otherwise you'd be screwed, you hated leaving the house with your cellular device on the brink of death. How could someone survive something so tormenting, knowing that your sole source of entertainment and threat protection was reaching the end of its battery life?

Not you, that's for sure.

You took out a fresh hoodie and a pair of sweatpants from your closet and changed into the bulky apparel. You picked up your going out bag from where it sat and stuffed a few essentials in them before making your way back into the living room. You noticed that there was a commotion going on as you neared the room, already getting riled up at the fact that Finn was here. The little boy was sitting on the foam mats you placed out, tiny hands gripping his favourite stuffed cow that his aunt brought with him. Ah, it seemed like things never change. Instantly, you blinked up to embrace him in a cuddly hug as you raved on and on about how precious he was. Finn seemed just as happy, letting out a cheerful burble when wrapping his stubby arms around you. "Dohhhh, Finny it's been too long!" you sniffled contentedly, pulling away from him and comfortably resting him on your lap.
