Unpredictable: Hazel's Gaze

Visiting Mother

My alarm on my phone woke me up. It was 6 o'clock and I started to wake up Calum. I then started to get my things and I placed them in my car. I then went back on the roof and I started to grab my bookbag. Calum followed me down the ladder and we headed in the school. Like I said, no one else was here but the staff. You could come in early as you wished though.

Calum walked with me to the gym and we went in the locker rooms. I went in the girls, and he went into the boys. I started to take a shower in the locker room and I started thinking. I started thinking about my mother and how she was doing. I could see if I could go and visit her today. I then sighed and I started to wash my hair and my body.

When I was finished, I started to dress into the cloths I put into my bag and I plugged my curler in the wall and waited for it to heat up. As my hair was damp dry, I started to curl my hair and I started to do my makeup next. As I was finished. I headed out of the locker room, and I noticed Calum was waiting by the doors. I smiled at him and I kissed his cheek. We then walked to our lockers and we went to the lunch room to grab some breakfast.

As I was eating my bagel, Calum was eating his bagel too. He then stopped eating and looked up at me. My eyes met his and I stopped eating. "So Haze, what are you going to do today?"

I swallow the piece that I bit off of and I started to speak, "I am planning to go and visit my mom at the drug clinic, I wanna know if she's ok." I know I should not visit her because of what she tried to do to me when I was in her stomach, but that's my mother and my only mother, like I said before. I should hate her and hope she rots in hell but I don't. I forgive people to easily. I don't hold a grudge towards anyone. Except if they mess with my friends, I will hold a grudge; A good example-Kendall.

Calum smiled at me when I said that. He then stroked my cheek and he started to smile even wider. "Hazel, you have the most beautiful eyes ever."

I start to look away from his stare. Of course though, I was still smiling. I then started to eat more of my bagel and I looked back at him. "Calum, you know how to make me blush."

"I love making you blush, it makes me feel like we're the only ones on this planet."

I then start to laugh and roll my eyes, "You're to corny."

Calum then starts laughing with me and takes a bite out of his bagel.

An hour later, everyone started to come in the school. I was already in my homeroom since I did everything I needed to. I started to text my mother telling her that I'll go and see her today. I then get a text from Jordan.

Jordan: Hey, where did you and Calum go last night?

Me: He had a suprise for me. I think soon, him and I will make it official.

Jordan: OMG REALLY!!??

Me: Hehe, yeah. Hopefully... I really like him Jordan.

Jordan: I know he won't hurt you... He told me himself.

I started to blush and bite my lip. I then put my phone back in my pocket and I started to do notes for my classes.

As everyone was dismissed from school at the end of the day. I went to my locker, switched out books I needed and didn't need, and headed towards my car. As I made it towards my car, I started driving to the therapy drug clinic.

As I made it to the drug clinic, I left my bookbag in my car and I started to walk inside. I then seen an old lady that was at the desk. She looked up and smiled at me. "May I help you miss?"

"Yes, what room is Layla Longsworth in?"

The old lady starts clicking away on her computer. She looks up at me and smiles, "She's in room 106," I nodded my head and smiled wide at her and I started to head to the left of the desk. The left of the hallway said 51-100, and the right of the hallway said 10-50 As I made it at the end of the hall, there was one more I needed to go to which was on my right. I then turned right and it was in the 100-150 Section. I then started to look on the even side of the wall, and I found my mother's room. "Layla Longsworth," underneath the number "106." I walked in and I seen her looking outside the window. I knocked and when she turned over towards me, she started smiling. I walked over to her and I started to hug her really tight.

"Hi mom, how are you doing?"

"I'm okay honey, I'm glad you're here." My mom said then she sat down.

"Mother, do you need some water?"

She nodded her head and I went to get the pitcher of water next to her bed, and I poured it in a plastic cup. I then started walking over to my mother who was sitting in the chair. She reached for the cup as I gave it to her and I smiled at her. I gave it to her and she sipped it, then held it in her lap.

"You know, your father came to visit me yesterday."

My eyes widen and my eyebrows went up, "He did?"

She nodded her head and then she started crying, "He said that he finally told you about your birth and my pregnancy."

I bite my lip. The pain in my stomach began.

My mother then looked up at me with her light brown eyes. It was filled with water, "I'm so sorry Hazel. It's just, at the time I didn't want any children."

I shook my head in dissapointment, "You should have still didn't do anything to get rid of me. Because of the drugs you did while you were pregnant with me, I'm fucking insane." My mother's eyes widen. She could always tell when I'm going to snap.

"I know, I know, I'm so sorry. You don't know how much I regret that mistake. I was young and stupid and I couldn't control my actions. Since I was a drug addict, I couldn't stop. It seemed like I needed more." She started sobbing in the chair near the window. Then there's me, who's standing there awkwardly. What would you do? If your mother was pretty much stating that you were a mistake and you were not supposed to be here? I couldn't comfort her, She tried to kill me.

I sighed and I walked over to her and hugged her, and this time I hugged her even longer. She hugged back and even tighter. I then stopped, and I let go. I looked down at her and I sat on her bed, "So, are they treating you well?" She nodded her head. I then reached for the tissues on the night stand and I gave a couple to my mother. She then wiping the tears off her cheeks.

I smiled at her and I then started to tell her about Calum and I. She loves Calum. She remembers him when I was a kid.

"Do you like Calum, Hazel?" My mom started giggling a little bit.

I nodded my head and I turned red.

"Well, hopefully he won't get in the way of your studying for being in the Medical Field. I know how much you always wanted to do that. You always talked about it when you were a kid."

I nodded my head and smiled at her, "Mom, I see the gang all the time, they don't get in the way of my studies. I still study every night before I go to bed. I think I'm planning on going to college in the United States, or Japan."

Her eyes widen and they started to fill with tears again, Oh boy. "You're going to leave your mother here, in Australia? What if something happens to me?" I sighed and shook my head, "Mother, I need to do this for myself. I will have to leave the nest some time." She then started sobbing and blowing her nose in the tissue. Time for me to go. I then hug and kiss her cheek, I say I love her and goodbye. I then go to the desk where I talked to the old lady and I leaned close to the desk, "Can you make sure that my mother gets special treatment and hopefully, she'll not be a drug addict anymore?" The lady smiled at me and wrote a note near her.

"You bet, I'll make sure to let the nurses know to give her special treatment."

"No matter how long it takes to, I don't mind." I say as I'm walking out, "Thank you so much ma'am. Have a good day!" I then started to go towards my car and started to drive home. As I made it home, I started to cook myself dinner. Steaks! As I was finished with dinner, I started to head towards the bathroom to take a shower, then I started to do my homework, then after I was finished, I studied my college medical book, and when I was feeling sleepy, I started texting Calum.

Me: Are you up??

Calum: Yeah, how was your mom.

Me: Unstable... She started crying when I was mostly there.

Calum: I'm sorry about that Hazel.. Hopefully they can help her...

Me: I'm hoping.... Thanks again for the date on the roof, it was really nice of you to do. I felt really special and the only girl, I swear.

Calum: You're welcome Hazel, I love to make you smile <3

Me: Awww Calum <333 I'm going to bed I'm tired. Goodnight Calum.
