Unpredictable: Hazel's Gaze

Carnival

I woke up and looked turned over to look at my phone, the phone conversation was still going. I began to smile and started to take the phone off speaker phone and put the phone on my ear and began to speak.

"Goodmorning Calum," I said while I got out of bed and started to head downstairs.

I heard groaning on the other line and rumbling of the phone, I then heard Calum's voice on the other line.

"Goodmorning babe," Calum said in a husky voice and more rumbling was going on the other line. As I was on the phone with him, I headed downstairs into the kitchen, Marylin was already cooking breakfast. I say myself down at the island and rested my elbow on it.

"What do you want to do today," I said as I grabbed an apple off the island. I then began to eat it and I smiled at Marylin as she faced me and smiled at me while she was cooking.

"Well, I heard there was a carnival today, would you like to go?" Calum says in a shy manner over the phone. "Yeah, that sounds fun, I never been to a carnival in forever," I said as I took a bite out of the apple again and Calum began to speak.

"So Carnival, pick me up at 4?" Calum said in an exciting manner. "Mhm," I say as I feel the heat rushing to my cheeks, "Alright call me when you are coming. I love you," I then put the apple in the trash as the phone is near my ear, "I love you too," I then hang up the phone and look at Marylin who sets a plate of food infront of me and smiles.

"So, you're going to the carnival today?" I smile and nod my head, she gives me a smile and begins to make herself a plate.

"Ahh, the carnival is amazing, I think your father and I should go this weekend. I'm tired of being in the house all day long since I have a baby on the way," She says while smiling and holding her stomach. I nodded my head and ate a piece of toast, "You two should, take some time off together is what you both need." Marylin smiled at me and nodded her head, and began to sit next to me at the island and began to eat her food. "You're right Hazel, maybe tomorrow your father and I could go," I gave her a warm smile and collected my plate and went over to the sink and began to wash it and the fork. I then began to go into the main room, up the stairs and went into my room. I went to find some cloths that were in my bag, a towel, my makeup, and my lotion and I started to head into the bathroom. I turned on the shower and began to strip. After I was done stripping, I began to hop in the shower, letting the warm water go down my back. I could not stop thinking about the fun Calum and I are going to have today! I've remember the last time I went to the Carnival with Calum, I will remind him next time I see him.

Calum, Mali, Joy, and I were all going to the Carnival! Joy had to talk my mom into taking me there since she never let me go anywhere. I then began to get my sneakers on and I waited for them outside. As I was looking at the sky, dreaming about leaving this town, I noticed a car that pulled up. I smiled and I began to ran to the car. I got in the backseat where Calum was sitting. He looked over at me and smiled. Joy looked at me in the mirror and smiled, "Hello, Hazel! Are you excited to go to the Carnival today?" Joy said to me and smiled at me, I nodded my head and smiled. Joy began to drive away from my house and headed to the carnival. She looked at me in the mirror again.

"Hazel, how old are you again? I keep on forgetting if you are the same age as Calum or not," I then look up and smile, "Oh, I'm 10," Joy nodded her head and smiled, "That's what I thought, I just forgot." I began to giggle and look at Calum, he was staring at me and smiling. I began to giggle and look outside the window.

We made it to the carnival and Joy found a place to park. We all got out and we started to head towards the front gate to get our tickets. Calum held my head and looked at me, "Stay with me so we don't get lost," I nodded my head and giggled. We made it to the front entrance, payed and gave us all tickets to go play some games. Calum then pulled me inside and we seen a game that I wanted to play! It was a game where you would have to knock down the jars to get a bear. There was a big bear that was hanging that I had my eyes on. I then gave the clerk the money and I began to play. The man gave me 3 baseballs to hit the jars with. Of course I couldn't get any of them. I then began to walk away when Calum calls out for me. I then wait on the side and I noticed that he was going to play! He got all of the jars down by one ball and he got the bear that was hanging off the wall that I wanted, then gave it to me and said, "Do you want to run away with me Hazel?" My eyes widen and I giggled, "Some day, Yes." I said and I got onto my tippy toes and gave Calum a kiss on the cheek.
