Three Years Later
Iris POV
Crying was one way to cope with the loss for someone you loved. Wether it be on paper or in real life, the pain is similar.
Losing your unborn child was a loss I will never be able to get over, and Xavier knows this. Yet he still never proposed the idea of it until later on.
It has been three years since the incident and to say I had healed from it would be a lie. Though I did learn to cope with it, the loss will forever be remembered. It was like scars that will always be there in memory from what you had to go through.
Even the burial wasn't easy yet we still made it through. Seeing the faces of those who surrounded me only made me feel more alone. Although I had Xavier with me, it still wasn't the best feeling. I'm glad that he kept the burial small so not many people came; judgement was the last thing we needed.
Some may say I was strong for what I had to go through, but it wasn't just that.
It was the anxiety I had to face, not knowing what would happen next. And it this very moment, let's just say it was at its worst.
Biting my nails in anticipation was helping my nerves, but not enough for me to not be crying hysterically in our bathroom. Alright, maybe that's an exaggeration.
Alivia came up behind me and patted my shoulder lightly in comfort. It still didn't sway me to not freak out.
"Hey, it's okay. You will be fine, regardless of the result," she calmly explained.
Though I couldn't see her expression, I could tell she was smiling lightly. It made me choke out a laugh and a sniffle at the same time.
"What if it's positive?" I frowned and turned around to look at her; wiping my tears so I could see her fine. She gave me a sly smile and rolled her eyes playfully before holding both of my hands together, making me leave the pregnancy test on the hard marble bathroom sink.
"Even if it is, it's all up for you to decide. After all, you should have thought about it before jumping on Mr. Horny Pants and not-" Alivia spoke honestly and I shut her up with my hand going over her mouth.
"He might hear!" I groaned and shut the bathroom door. Although I knew Xavier would not hear from all the way downstairs in the kitchen, I couldn't help but feel embarrassed by Alivia's words.
I called her out to give me advice and help but instead she gives me this.
"Alright, alright. Just don't worry too much. It's been three years, it's bound to happen at some point. No matter the result, you know damn well his love for you will never die. Trust me, in the last few years, he has deemed himself as worthy for you, and I approve," Alivia grinned sheepishly at me.
Tears formed in my eyes at her words. Alivia has shown more acceptance towards Xavier, even from the beginning. She never hated him, but there were times where she would question his love for me. But ever since the incident, she could clearly see his potential, as she would like to call it.
At the sight of my unshed tears, Alivia playfully groaned.
"Don't do this right now, let's just be happy. No matter the result, we're all here for you."
I nodded and sighed until an idea popped up in my head that left me sheepishly looking at her. Alivia gave me a pointed look and I finally disclosed my thoughts.
"Even Marcus?" My words came out in a teasing and suggesting tone.
A pink flushed tint hit Alivia's cheeks as she narrowed her eyes at me. I stifled a laugh at her expression. She had been crazy about Marcus ever since Xavier and I's wedding. The two seemed to hit it off and I loved teasing her about it.
