Iris POV
"Iris, baby wake up," I heard a familiar voice whispering. I let out an annoyed groan not wanting to get up. Why this early?
"Not yet. Just a few mor-" but before I could finish my lame excuse I got interrupted. "Iris Rose Queen you will get up and get ready to go to California or else I will cancel the trip and let you sleep here until you die."
"Ugh! Fine!" I threw the sheets up and off of me. Xavier stood shirtless with an apron on looking like a mom getting mad. I let out a bellowed laugh, oh gosh. "You're, I mean, what!?" This is my dream come true.
"Hey! I only did this because we're gonna have an emotional rollercoaster today so be prepared," Xavier responded with his cheeks flushed. "We? And thank you for wearing a pink baby bucket hat and a pink apron to match it," I laughed once again seeing Xavier like this. This is probably a one time thing so I'm going to take it all in.
Before I even noticed it since I was too busy laughing, I was lightly pinned against the wall and kissed. After Xavier pulled back, he had his signature smirk plastered on his face. "Is anything funny to you now, Mrs. Queen? I want a baby girl so don't come at me. And yes, we will be going through this together."
This time I'm sure my cheeks were flushed as I tried to get out of his caged arms. "Kiss me, then I'll let go," he whispered against my ear sending chills down my back. "No, you already had your kiss. Now let go, we'll be late."
Obviously Xavier didn't listen and I tried pushing his arms but he wouldn't budge. "Kiss me," he whispered and my lips immediately met his to shut him up. My tongue tried to fight for dominance but of course he won.
I tried pulling back but he wouldn't let me. There's only one way to solve this. "Argh!" He pulled back and rubbed his lip softly.
"We'll be late, I'm getting ready." He rolled his eyes as I passed by him. "I'll get you back for that," he whispered. "We'll see, and besides, it wasn't that hard," I winked at him and left.
I got ready and prepared for what was about to happen today. Meeting my mom won't be easy especially after these three years of not knowing where she was or if she was alive or not. My father told me she died after the incident happened but I didn't believe him.
For some reason I had hope she was still alive but it was easier to just accept that she was dead and move on. But instead she wasn't dead all along.
"This is really good. Thanks for cooking, again." I complimented. Xavier tipped his bucket hat and I let out a chuckle.
"You should take that off, we're leaving soon." Xavier nodded his head but his eyes told me another story. "You're right," and with that he started taking everything off.
"Not here! Go upstairs!" I scolded him and turned to look at something else. This man was certainly something else. "It's nothing you've never seen before," he replied and I looked back at him putting his clothes back on. He's right.
"Whatever," I muttered and left past him towards the lounge. Maria was tidying up some books that were out of place. "Hey Maria! Whatcha doing?" I asked as she turned around and gave me a warm smile. "Just reorganizing some of Xavier's books."
Curiously I walked over to her to see which kinds of books Xavier reads. Maria didn't mind and left to go clean something else I suppose.
All you need to know about pregnancy. Pregnancy symptoms & ways to cope with it. Different types of books were named everything about pregnancy as I shuffled through them.
"Hello kitten," I heard him whisper in my ear. I let out a laugh that I was holding in. "You're reading books about pregnancy!?" I turned to look at him and saw his cheeks flush. "I was worried something might happen. It's better to stay safe then sorry," he shrugged trying not to blush.
"I love you," I whispered and wrapped my arms around his neck. He gave in and tried to kiss me but I teased him instead. Finally, he captured my lips and I felt him smiling. Xavier makes me fall in love with him more and more everyday.
This proved that he cared about me and is willing to learn about everything we're going through to make it easier. "Let's go," he took my hand and led me upstairs. "Get changed."
I gave him a fake smile and shook my head. "You need to change."
"We can both change together," he insisted with a smirk. I gave him a sly smile and shook my head and headed out the door.

We entered the private jet and Xavier gave me an assuring smile. Although I'd love to enjoy this experience the main purpose as to why we're going will keep me on my feet. "Do you want some water?" I nodded at Xavier thankfully and he got up to get some water.
I sat down on the seat and got comfortable. Xavier came back with my water and I drank it. "We'll arrive in about five hours or so."
I nodded and looked out the window for some closure. I don't know why my father did what he did but now it's time for answers.
Although I'm mad at mom for not reaching out to me I still very much miss her. She had her reasons and yet I don't want to believe them but I have no choice but to give her another chance. People make mistakes and I hope there is an explanation to this one.

The anxious feeling in my gut wasn't helping me with anything right now. The whole plane ride Xavier slept and I was wide awake like an owl. How could I not be? After finding out that my mother was alive after thinking she was dead for three years.
That part of the problem was mainly my father. He made me believe she was dead and for what? It's not like I would be able to go to California even if I knew she was alive at the time.
What will she think about my baby? After all, she wasn't here to witness it. I just have to keep my composure for a little longer before we arrive where she lives.
Xavier must've noticed me getting anxious because he assured me everything will be fine and I should calm down for the sake of the baby. I gave him a slight nod and looked outside the window of the black SUV.
We are now heading towards where she lives. I don't exactly know how Xavier found out where my mom lives but he must have his sources. Either way, I don't know what would've happened if I hadn't found out that mom was still alive. My life would be a lie just like the last three years.
The only way I can move on from the past is to forgive and forget, even if I won't actually forget.
